Hi Kath & welcome to Healing Well. Yes we have had people have different spinal surgeries, many involved the neck too. If you will look in CP101 at the top & scroll through towards the end you will find a wealth of info about surgery & recovering from it. Its from folks on here that had cervical fusions done, however, it should be helpful to you. What type of surgery did you have done?
The most important thing you can do is follow your post op directions to the letter. Walking is one of the most important things you can do. It will help you build up strength & stamina. Getting up & moving around serves a lot of purposes that is crucial to your recovery.If you had a fusion done you have a very long road ahead of you to have a complete recovery. Look for ways to distract yourself from the pain whether its listening to music or reading a book.
