I hope you'll find a bit of encouragement from my experience. I had my ulnar nerve transposition done in 1996. While mine was a traumatic injury that went untreated for 5 months and the some of the damage is permanent, I have improved much over the years. Nerves take quite a long time to heal, generally at least a year.
I still have some numbness and if I overuse the forearm, I get a very achy flu like pain in the arm.
One of the exercizes I still do is the finger tip to thumb touch. Index, middle, ring, pinky. Pinky, ring, middle, index. Repeat. I do this for several repetitions. I believe it helps keep the nerve and muscles gliding well. I hope you will try it and I hope that it helps you, too.
