Hi Joyce Welcome to HealingWell Chronic Pain Forum. I guess the first thing I will ask you is what test have you had done. You mentioned that you have been on antibiotics and it doesn't seem to help? Have you had any x-rays taken of your chest or spine? What has your doctor diagnosed it as? There could be a whole host of things causing your symptom, and of course we are not doctors here so we can only give you advice from our own personal experience. But with that said I think I would be asking some questions of my doctor! If he hasn't helped you in all these years, then maybe it is time for you to go to a different doctor to get a second opinion??? Maybe the problem is in your back??? the nerves that come out of your spine controls everything including the muscles that control your breathing. I would think further test would be in order?? But you need to talk with your doctor, and if your not satisfied with what he is doing or not doing for you, then go to somebody else.

Hi Joyce boy sounds like you have allot going on, are they able to control your pain at all? Have you seen a Pain Management doctor? That might be a reasonable request if they are not able to adequately control your pain. As for you breathing problems I would think they could give you something for it? Or do something? Have they tried giving you a steroid for it? or maybe if the one antibiotic didn't work they could try a different type of antibiotic, any more allot of the different bugs are antibiotic resistant! Sorry your having so much trouble.
