post-RFA pain

I have had RFA done for my back multiple times over the past few years. Never had much pain following the procedure, until now.

I had RFA on my left lumbar spine (3 levels) this past Wednesday. Since then my pain has increased significantly. Feeling like I can barely function. Normally, I rarely use my meds for breakthru pain, but I have been using them the past few days with very little relief.

I have heard that sometimes there is some increase in pain for a week or so following the procedure, but this pain is so much worse than the amount of pain prior to the procedure.

Is this normal?

I would ask your doctor to be sure, but I have had RF's in my neck & back. Some of them didn't hurt at all ... I just had to wait for the relief to kick in. Others hurt like the dickens all the way until I started getting relief from the scar-thingies forming.
