New things to try for pain?

hello, I haven't been here for quite a while, anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew anything new that helps with pain? Right now I am on Lyrica, Fentynal pain patches, Oxycodone for breakthrough pain, and I get a Depoprovera birth control shots due to really painful cramps! I know that medical marijuana can help but it is illegal here so that's not an option. So if any of you know of something, please let me know, thanks!

Thanks for the reply, my pain is from digestive problems, here is my story, I may not have all the details right because I kind of blocked them out:

I got colonic inertia when I was 13 and had my colon removed, then at 16 I got rectal inertia and had my rectum removed and had a j-pouch made, my small bowel was connected to the j-pouch, I had a temporary ileostomy done while the j-pouch was healing, so when it was all healed, I had the ostomy reversed, then at 18 I was having problems again so I got an ileostomy again which is permanent.

You need not be highly flexible nor a human pretzel to derive meaningful benefits from yoga. My favorite yoga poses and posture are the more basic and gentle postures. Yoga acts like an internal massage, mobilizing adhesions and promoting motility of the GI tract. Yoga also quiets the mind and is a good medium for centering one's thoughts and promoting relaxation.

There are lots of options for practicing yoga. You can purchase a beginner's DVD, join a class in your community, practice with a You-Tube video, purchase a yoga magazine or book with illustrations and helpful tips.

If you have not tried yoga for pain control, give it a try. Start slowly with basic postures and poses. I consider yoga part of my daily routine, like brushing my teeth. Especially on days when I am my most fatigued and pained, I know that I will feel better for the effort.

ShyAnn, you are so right the non-stop pain just wears on a person. I have lived so many years with pain that I have forgotten what it would be like to be pain free. I also realize even with meds it simply is not possible to make me pain free either.

Is there any room for increases in any of your meds?
