Vasovagal response to shots??

A new development in my crazy life, I have apparently decided to have vasovagal response to injections and almost pass out. I have 5 children. Had chronic pain issues over half my life. Plenty of needle sticks and blood draws just between those two things. Never an issue.

I had an injection of Tordol about 4 months ago, totally fine. I had a steroid shot a month ago, and halfway through the injection got very lightheaded. Nurse called it vasovagal response. I thought wow. Weird. Today I had trigger point injections done. I almost fainted right off thd stool. Lightheaded, stomach rolling, hearing started receding while roaring in head started. After I recover from it, I’m fine.

Anyone else dealt with this? I do not want to do this ever injection from now on.

This happens a lot and you cannot control it tiredredhead.
Try having them doing any injections from now on while you are
Lying down. I hope it goes much better.

Sometimes dental injections (lidocaine or narcaine to numb an area prior to dental work) and corticosteroid injections (for epidural or trigger points) or numbing injections to relax trigger points and muscle knots/co-contraction (lidocaine or narcaine) also contain epinephrine or adrenaline as an additive. Ask your physician or provider if the injection solution contained epinephrine or adrenaline.

It is the added epinephrine or adrenaline that causes the symptoms of light-headedness. People feel as though they are going to pass out. Other symptoms may include: increased pulse rate, heart “flutters” or feeling that your heart has skipped a beat; feeling cold or clammy; goosebumps.
