Hi All
29 year male i have a pressure in my head,eye strain and i feel like contract in my nake and shoulder it happend on me for almost for 1 month and i decide to go to hospital and the doctor told me its a tension headech, but my problem was its just pressure in my head not headech but he gave me amitriptyline 25mg one tablet every night before sleeping and i take amitriptyline for almost 6 months, and now i quite taking amitriptyline 3 mothes a go and the pressure is now kind of coming. Can anyone help me please

Hello & welcome to Healing Well. We are not drs here so we really cannot tell you what is causing your symptoms. If you were seen by ER only, I suggest that you get in & see your primary care dr.. Have you had your eyes checked by an eye dr? If this has been going on 6 months, perhaps your dr can refer you to a neurologist for a consult.

Head pressure is a mystery condition that doctors generally don't know how to treat. However, you can find quite a few people online dealing with it.

Those who have found relief did so in many different ways... suggesting different underlying causes.


Some are:
food sensitivity -- e.g. red food dye, sulphate, msg, artificial sweeteners.
Neck tension or vertibral artery impingement... do showers help? Stretches? Posture?
Stress, hypertension.
Nutritional deficiency... vitamin D deficiency in particular.

Try working through these. I suffered on and off for 10 years.

Hi cogito, i had to register just to ask you this question, i stumbled on a post about pressure on face, not your post tho, but you said you had certain symptoms of which i perfectly have, squashing noise at the back of head, pressure on one side of face and so on, but all you said, i had them.

Please how did you go about it, i'm curious. thanks.

Hi SZ,

I'm not that active on this board lately, but happened to visit today.

I wish I could give you a definite solution for head pressure, but I probably stumbled into mine.
For about 5 years, I was getting head pressure every couple months, sometimes lasting weeks. Around that time, I also started to get migraines.

Roughly a year ago, or a bit more, I started using the following daily:
Agmatine 250mg 2x daily, Tianeptine Sulphate 25mg 2x daily.

I'm fairly confident that the Tianeptine stopped my migranes as one week when I decided to stop using it, they came back.

I have also been using CBD products for about 6 months -- vaporized CBD took away the migranes almost instantly the days I was getting them when I stopped the Tianeptine.

I also now take D3, Fish Oil, Uridine Monophosphate, Alpha GPC Choline, and Co-Q10 daily.

In addition, I've been more careful with my head position and have been gently stretching my neck more often.

Further, as noted, I've cut out a lot of food dyes. Since I greatly reduced my opioid use, I've not had a sweet tooth and so far less sugar and the artificial crap in typical candies.
