Unrelenting eye pain

Has anyone else experienced severe chronic eye pain that no one can diagnose? I also have many visual disturbances that developed out of nowhere. I have been clinically diagnosed with Lyme disease but even my lyme doctor doesn’t know what to do for the severe eye pain and visual problems. I w had two mri, two ct which both came back clean thank the Lord. Been to many eye specialists neuro op all with no avail. I know it could be the lyme causing all this but I haven’t found anyone with the same symptoms as me. The Lyme forum is very helpful but I’ve tried things that have been recommended that I can afford. I’m just Praying from the bottom of my heart the iv antibiotics they have me on and Gods grace will heal this eye pain and visual problems very very soon. It has all but stopped my life. If anyone has experienced anything like this or has any suggestions that will help please let me know it would be appreciated more than you know. Thank you and God bless all

What type of visual problems are you having? I have had several iritises which is an inflammation of the iris. I will see what looks like snow when this happens. I’m given drops to dialate my eye and then Pred Forte drops to stop the inflammation. This needs to be taken care of because vision can be lost. I originally was misdiagnosed with conjunctivitis and if I hadn’t gone to a good ophthalmologist I could have lost a lot of vision.

Also, glaucoma can cause eye pain or a scratched cornea, etc. Do you have an ophthalmologist you can see regularly? I know I would do that...and I do because I’m diabetic and I can have eye problems with that disease. I see my ophthalmologist every four months.

The bottom line is to find a board certified ophthalmologist if you haven’t already. Do let us know what you do or find out because we do care about you. It’s frightening when you don’t know what is causing a problem.

I have an opthalmologist I see and have seen retina specialists and many more who all say my eyes sturcurally are fine. This is terrible for your vision and eyes to keep getting worse with no help. Was admitted into the university of Louisville by my neurologist and they still could not find the problem. They said my mri showed low volume for my age and the only answer I got from another neurologist they had me see was it might have been from a 5 day steroid treatment from 3 months ago. That’s not a very comforting answer when your dealing with something so precious as your vision and eyes. And so many weird things going on with my head. They always bring up migraines then say it wouldn’t cause the visual trouble 24/7. Lord there has to be someone that knows how to help has saw this problem. The eye pain is debilitating and vision trouble is unreal. The worst is seeming after images and silhouettes from pretty much everything I look at, always seeing light with my eyes closed, seeing flashing little dancing bright white dots, bursts of light of many different colors, severe light sensitivity and so so much more. It truly is like living a real life nightmare. Light gets burned into my vision for minutes at a time. I am honestly scared to death. I just Pray from the bottom of my heart with everything in me for a sign of relief that things are finally healing please my Lord please today even the smallest glimpse I’m getting better.
