Hi Miss Darla,
My father in law is unfortunately not someone I am fond of living with or having to deal with on a continual basis. Would you consider going on another forum in which we could private message each other? If so let me know and I will direct you to another chronic pain forum I belong to. This forum is wonderful but lacks any privacy.

I had to laugh when reading your comment about making this a positive experience but even my wife has the greatest of difficulty dealing with her father.

I hope today finds you feeling better and in less pain. My prayers are with you my dear one

Hi dmo, I am prob not going to set up private emails. I would not be comfortable with my husband doing that so it would not be right for me. I do hope to continue to keep up with you here!

It ok Darla,

I talk with many friends both male and female on SH. It is no different than us talking here on open forum. It is just friends exchanging how we feel about problems or health issues without letting the whole world know about our lives.

I totally understand your view though so don't worry about me. I am hurting like everyone else here, I guess we all are.

One or both of you can edit and post your personal e-mail address on your profile page.

To restore your privacy once both of you have exchanged personal e-mail addresses between you . . . simply delete your newly listed e-mail information from your profile page.

This way, you share your e-mail address only with the audience that you want to.

Hi Miss Darla.

My original intention with us talking on SH was because we could talk a little more in depth where expressing ourselves about pain or family or really anything which may be to much of a burden on open forum. It was not my intention to keep anything from our spouses or even the appearance of anything inappropriate. As HW does not allow private messaging everything needs to be on open forum. As friends speaking to each other we would clutter the forum with trivial matters no one else would care about!!! lol.

I think it best to leave things as they are but I do value our friendship and hope to hear how you are doing and how your pain is. Everyone on this forum is so kind and wonderful. I value everyone's opinion and comments.

Try using a foam roll to stretch your spine daily. I love mine from Amazon! Mine is about 3 feet tall and width the size of a cantaloupe. I had ACDF and all the hardware failed so I had to go back in for repair. I suffer daily with a nagging pain in my neck and upper back. I do fine acupuncture and massage help loosen up the tight muscles temporarily.

Hi AA...How many levels did you have? And did you have to have the whole thing replaced? Recently? How are you feeling now besides the nagging ache?

What is acdf surgery? I have a total knee surgery and it was a nightmare. Suffice it to say my best advice is to stay away from doctor and seek the less evasive treatment possible.

I agree but sometimes it's the best option. ACDF is neck surgery. The knee replacement was much much worse!
