Good afternoon. I have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain Syndrome, trouble with Bells Palsy, GERD, General Anxiety Disorder, Depression, and persistent Post Shingles Pain. I take a mouthful of medicines for these issues. My doctor recently added some medicines and changed some doses and times per day I take some of the ones I had before. I go to bed between 9 and 10 pm and get up between 5 and 6. I take 2 medicines 2x/day, 3 medicines 1x/day (2 in the morning and 1 at night), 1 3x/dat and 1 4x/day. I need each medicine to function half way normal on a daily basis (whatever normal is) but I do not know how to make the dosing instructions fit into the waking hours of my day. My medicines are (I don't mind sharing) Gabapentin (2 400mg pills 3x daily)*, Diclofenac (75mg 2x/day)**, Baclofen (10mg 4x/day)** [been on it before at this level, not a problem for me], Citalopram (20mg 2x/day)*, Hydroxyzine (50mg 1x/day in the morning, ea 6 hrs prn for allergies), Trazadone 50mg (1/2 to 1 pill 1 hr before bed), and omeprazole (20 mg daily before breakfast). I also take a daily multivitamin (with night meds), vitamin D3 (morning), Glucosamine/Chondroitin (morning), Omega-3 (morning), Iron (morning), and Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc (Night).
If anyone can help me put these directions into action I would appreciate it. I am taking my 1 and 2x well, but the 3 time ends up being every 7 hours and the 4 time ever 4.5 to 5 depending on when I go to bed.

Averaging wakeup time to 5:30 am, bedtime at 9:30 pm...

4x a day - 1st at wakeup, 2ond at 10:30, 3rd at 3:30, 4th at bedtime is ~5 hours between each
3x a day - 1st at wakeup, 2ond at 1:30, 3rd at bedtime is ~8 hours between each

Hopefully that is what you are asking?

You also might to check the interactions between these medications to make sure you can take the different meds at the same time. Good luck!

The nurse in your doctor's office should be able to help you set up the daily schedule for your medications.

Your pharmacist may also be able to help you with this.

Your pharmacist would be the best person to ask. You might want to ask for the Pharmacy Manager. They are usual older with more experience.

Vitamins and supplements can interfere with how some medications are absorbed. Medications,taken for GERD can also interfere with how some medications are absorbed. Some medications work better when taken with food and some do not.

Thank you all for your input. I know all meds I have I can take together. I needed to make the instructions work with my day as I typically work 11a-730p. What to take when is important to know what goes with me and what can stay home.

I use a week pill holder box/organizer with 4 section containers for each day. The daily containers with the 4 sections are removable from the whole week box. I have 2 boxes, so I can fill 2 weeks at a time. I take my day container with me when I go out. They are small and fit into my change section of my wallet or a zipped compartment in my purse.
I found several styles on Amazon, inexpensive. Several different sizes of sections/compartments. There was even one with 2 weeks in a lockable case! One with a reminder! I got my original pill organizer boxes at a dollar store.

There are also services such as PillPak, and certain pharmacies that will package and label your pills and label when to take them.

My pharmacy makes pill packs. I love them. I was so tired of fixing mine once a week. Now i pick up once a month and take a pack in the morning and a pack in the evening.

Hi Katrina I take a few of the same meds that you do, some are once a day a few are twice a day and my Baclofen is 3 times a day every 8 hours. I have arranged my meds so I take most (but not all) my once a day meds and my first of the day dose of my twice a day meds, and the first dose of my Baclofen all at 6 A.M. then at 2 P.M. I take my second daily dose of Baclofen. Then at 6 P.M. I take my second dose of my twice a day medications (calcium, vit D, baby asprin, salvasalazine,) and also one of my once a day medications (simvastatin). Then at 10 P.M. I take my third an last dose for the day of my Baclofen and also my once a day dose of my synthroid. At 6 in the morning I have 10 different meds to take at 2pm just the one and at 6pm 5 different ones and 10 pm 2 different meds. Just as a side note, I take 30 mg (3 ten mg tablets of Baclofen every 8 hours) this medicaton has been a real Godsend for me in helping control muscle spasms.

Anyway thats how I do it, and have been on this schedule for years! You just have to find a schedule that works out best for you! I alway prepare my meds on Saturday night for the next coming week. I also have one of the med container things that have daily continers that have 4 separate compartments in it, and it also has an attachable timer with alarm that when set it will beep when its time to take my meds. I use that for my 2pm, 6pm, and 10pm, meds. At the end of each day I take the alarm timer off the empty day container and attach it to the next days container! I have a separate oval medication container that has a large compartment for each day around it with a clock with a programable alarm in the center that I use that for my 6 A.M. meds.
