It’s been awhile my friends. Last time I think I checked in after or before my posterior C5-C7 fusion to fix my failed C4-7 ACDF. The revision worked and got rid of my “broken neck “ pain. But with all of my hardware and osteoarthritis I will always have neck pain. More manageable though.
My pain pump has helped my low back pain. But we have yet to figure out how to deal with my nerve pain that radiates down my legs. They figured that it comes from cord compression that is not surgically fixable.
But since that can’t possibly be enough to deal with, I managed to take a nasty fall while walking my dogs two weeks ago. I got a concussion, bruised my face and shoulder and shattered my arm/ wrist into too many pieces to count. Had surgery a week ago with three plates, wires and screws to hold things together.
The surgeon says one year initial recovery and 2-3 years to whatever level of recovery I end up achieving. Has anyone here gone through something like this? Of course it’s my dominant right hand/ arm.
Between my normal chronic pain, covid, and now this, things are hard. And I can’t even get a pedicure or help.
Any input on my recovery would be helpful. Thanks, Taller Now
