Use of Fentora

My pain doctor prescribed Fentora for neuropathic pain. I'm taking 400mcg once a day. It works great. The instructions say do not cut the med. I sometimes find I could use a lower dose and cut the med in half. This seems to work ok but I wonder what the risks (if any) are?

Hi Jerry,

My guess is that if you cut them in half you have no idea how much medication you are receiving. Also, by cutting the surface it can enter the body at a much different rate than intended. You may get a huge jolt and that's VERY dangerous with this med.

I assumed the med was homogeneous but now that I think about it that was probably a pretty dumb assumption.  After dealing with peripheral neuropathy for 13 years this med beats all the other pain meds I have tried hands down.
