Just wanted to know who all has hot tubs here? If so what kind and how do you like them?

I have a Coleman 480 hot tub out in my yard that I absolutely love. It seems to help with the spasms as well as reduce the pain a little bit, but getting in and out of it is quite a chore. So hubby has installed rails for me to hang onto as well as a bar across the top of the room so that I can hang onto it while trying to get out. Love it!

The jets on this thing are quite powerful and it has hip jets that are wonderful on the lower back and side of the hips. These jets massage my sides and back so that the pain does fall a degree. Unfortunately the hot tub right at this point has been cleaned (gotta love hubby for that) and is filling with water so I cannot go into it until around 7-9 tonight, but I will be happy when the water has heated and I can relax a bit.

Definetily lets host the next pity party in the hot tub. This calls for wine, cheese and fruit.

There is one in my apartment complex that I use frequently and one at the gym I go to. It's a gym for people over 50 and those needing rehab. The hot tub is the size of a small swimming pool and has a section that is 4 1/2 feet deep! You can stand up and the jets hit you in the lower back. It is awesome.

I have yet to find a hot tub with jets that will hit my shoulders without me drowning.

I hear you, Dagger! When I used to travel I always looked for a hotel that had a jacuzzi or something comparable. That was all I cared about. But I'd be mostly underwater trying to get the jets to hit my neck.

Now, for the party tonight, I'm bringing special treats. A truckload of brand new fluffy, long terrycloth robes with matching slippers - in a variety of sizes and colors. Everyone gets to feel cozy when she/he exits the tub!

I love hottubs but I don't have one. Since I don't have one, my hubby got me one of those jets that you hang off the side of the baththub. It's not the same thing but it works pretty well.

Ok, if you all ever get the chance of sitting in a hot tub you will thank me for it I swear! The hot tubs now adays have such miracle jets that even the worst pain sufferers get some relief from them. Too the hot water from the jets seems to relax the muscles and make the tension melt away.

Let me know if your ever wishing to buy one and I will give you some ideas of what to look for.

Hot tub party sounds great!! Bring the chardonnay and the wine and cheese we will pile in the hot tub and relax

yeah  I agree that hot tubs are GREAT.  I do find that the pain relief is for me, only very short term.

TY for your replies.  I want to know who is doing the cooking at this hot tub party?  Or are we ordering out? LOL

I currently cook if at all in 3-5 minute intervals. Party sounds fun either way.

My mom has a jet tub.  I lived with her for awhile to help/assist my father die.  I used to jet tub daily and the pool as well weather permitting.  Great way to get a workout.

I have one time checked into a Hotel for 3 nights just to use the jet tub.  Sort of pricey though.  Wish I had one of my own.

Have either of you heard of Pain Rehab Clinic's?  I am thinking about going to Mayo Clinic for a out patient program lasting 15 days.  Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.  I checked out hotels as it is out of state.  169.00 to 250.00 a night for 20 nights that includes weekends!  Another let down for me, who can afford that?  I am on disability and can't.

I am praying that when I call them again tomorrow that they will have some sort of assistance program for the disabled.  I will not let anyone else profit off my condition.

I thought about starting a new thread but didn't know if there is one out there already? 

Any input on Pain Rehab Clinic would be great.

Never heard of that clinic but if they help let me know and I will head that way as well (that is if WC will be so kind as to allow it) We don't have ta cook, I'll have hubby do the cooking on th grill so we are good to go. Just jump in and let your mind float away

Yes, we have a hot tub in our back yard too. We got ours back in 96 and its a large one. I have one recliner and six regular seats. One seat is extra large and deep.When I stand in ours its a little over waist deep on me. I would not recommend to anyone buying the ones with more than one recliner because they take up alot of room, unless its a large tub like ours. My dr filled out a letter and we did not have to pay taxes on it. Back then they were expensive, we paid like $5,600 for it. Ours came from Morgan Spas.

I was doing water therapy and still working at the time. I would not get home until 8:30 every night, my dr suggested it, because I can do the exercises in it that I was doing at PT. It was a life saver for me, back then its was bad neck & back pain. The recliner took care of both, my problem was falling asleep in it, husband threatened water wings. Each seat has jets that hit various heights and places, its awesome. Have 2 jets on bottom for the feet that is great. I still get in it now, have to be careful with the jets now because of my pump. Yes, mine has always helped. I would recommend one to anyone. Susie

Stray I am glad that your hot tub helps you as well. Mine was 5600 and has room for 5-6 people. It has a lounger on it and like you I had my Neurosurgeon write a script for it so I didn't have to pay sales tax.

And Stray - next party's at your place. Before the end of summer we can have one at mine, but no hot tub. Just a Great Lake!

British by origin, I think. But I learned it at our local firefighter's carnival as a kid. And I've never stopped! There's actually a lot of healing properties in vinegar, and my body sometimes craves it.

Ok, Ok, I know....you're not going to let me come to the party cuz of the funky smell. eyes

But then you don't get robes.... devil
