Ok here we go....need to know what this means

While I was visiting with the nurse at my last appt with PD it seems that she took my BP and discovered that it was low 74/48 or something like that. Anyway she took it again as I was standing and it was still low. Doc was kinda worried about this so he had the nurse come in and take it again with a manual BP cup after I had done my appointment with him and of course wouldn't you guess the BP was 100/72 which is about normal for me. I've always ran low but never as low as the first one that they took with a machine.


What I am kinda wondering is this....could the machine been off?

Hi, I'm a new member haven't had the chance to put in my stuff yet but I would like to answer your q. Sometimes your BP can change from standing up to sitting down. I cant remember the right medical term for this. Yes, it could have just meant that machine was off it calibration since it was a machine. Normally when you have the condition of the above mention when u stand up you will pass out or feel dizzy. If you feel neither of those things I'm sure it was the machine. Hope this helps.

Thanks Daisy that helped alot! I believe it was that the machine was not calibrated right. My BP did not change when I was standing or sitting it was the same. then when they took it after the appt with doc it was fine.

Oh good now I know what it is called. I was thinking about this and I have been getting dizzy if I get up to fast but I figured it was the meds
