Hello,  I was injured on the job back in 2002.  I at the time went back to work after epidural shots and PT.  But I was low functioning with at the time L2 bulging.  This then kicked off DDD, I am now a senior member with L2-L3, L3-4, L4-L5 and a cervical area I do not recall.  I used to be very high functioning working for the county I was seconded go to gal in the department I worked in, loved my job and co-workers.  I look forward to conversing with you.  Thus far my  best advice I have gotten from these reads are to keep a journal and get a hot tub. Oh and be aware of or come to terms with my limits, if I am ever privy to pain meds again I will take only as prescribed and walk a very fine line with prescribing Doctor.  Thanks in advance for what I may learn.

I also suffer from DDD and also JDD and a couple herniated discs and one that is torn and leaky according to various doctors and tests. Sometimes I think they are all just guessing though - as no one has really found any effective treatment other than medication. I am fortunate that I have been able to get some medication, but I haven't found a PM who is willing to prescribe the regimen that really works b/c it involved rather high doses and I am pretty young and otherwise healthy. It's a long story and I don't want to take over your thread whining about me, but if you are interested you can find it in the first few pages, I think.

Anyways, I am wondering if you are still doing PT? I currently have a WONDERFUL physical therapist who really works hard to keep me out of the bad flare zone. Of course flares still happen (just had one a couple weeks ago) but he stays right on top of it and adjusts my treatment accordingly. One of the many things he has done for me is to teach me better ways to move - how to stand up from a chair, how to lay on my side in bed, how to get out of bed, how to get IN to bed, how to sit at a desk, how to sit in a car... the list goes on. It doesn't take the pain away, but following his recommendations has certainly made me able to tolerate certain activities for a little longer than I was able to before. Sitting is really hard for me, but after learning his techniques, I can sit for almost 30 minutes at a shot before I have to get up. (I used to have to get up about every 5 minutes!).

If you don't have PT right now, maybe that's something else you could ask your doc to refer you to when you see him tomorrow. Let us know how the appointment goes. I'll be praying for a great appointment and positive outcome!

I was reading your post about being at the hair salon and it had me a bit concerned when you said you stood up and had gone numb and leaked urine. There is a thread started by Dragoness Warrrior about Cauda Equina Syndrome. I don't know if you have ever been evaluated for that, but you might want to read that thread (it's fairly recent) as there's some good info on it you might want to talk with your doc about tomorrow.

Again, I hope you have a good MD visit. Let us know how it goes.

By the way, it's helpful to post a subject when you start a thread. That way you'll get more responses about whatever topic you want to discuss. Just a thought - not a requirement! :-)

PaLady, Can we get this thread deleted or compiled with another or can I name it now?(I can't think of a name!) I'm soooooooo stupid! I wasn't in my first life. Just another symptom I assume.
As for CES I have suggested this, I was just seen by a board certified neural surgeon and told him all this. He never suggest it.
I figured he would as he viewed my June MRI right there in the room, via computer. I do not want to start diagnosis myself as in the eyes of Medical Professionals, my family gets on me for that so I didn't bring it up.(The name) I will address it with my Doctor tomorrow. AS for being stupid is there a way to edit my post? I see so many typos. Keep in my I type on my back, so my lap top is resting on my knees or belly. Pretty much upside down.

First, you're not stupid! Anyone that can type anything lying on their back is doing great in my mind! I can't type sitting at a keyboard! But yes, you can edit your posts. Click on the pencil icon in the upper right corner and that will allow you to edit. You may be able to title your first post, which would title the thread, since you're the one who started it, but I'm not sure about this. It's worth a try.

The X icon in the upper right corner allows you to delete a post, but I don't think you can delete the first post in a thread you started once others have responded. So try seeing if you can add a title by clicking on the pencil icon in your first post in this thread. Hope that makes sense!

There's also a lot of useful information if you click on "help" in the control panel. It'll explain a lot of what you can do. By the way, you can't delete or edit the posts of others; only moderators or the administrator can do that.

I'll try to pull up the CES thread and give it a bump to the first page. There is a lot of good info. in it - a lot I didn't know, as I'm not familiar with CES. But that's how we all learn.
