Need some shoulders - tired of people who don't understand

Scrizzy The only way I can deal with it is to always wear my fentanyl patch,take my anti depressents,my potassiam, B-12,HOT HOT HOT baths,stay by the bathroom for the first hour or so after I eat,And I dont go out to much.Yes I have 9 kids (thay range from 29 to 6).Also if it was not for the love of my husband I would not be here.You are right most people dont understand cronic pain or depression unless thay have had it themself.But if your father is a DR. and your mom and sisters are nurses you would think that you would get some good suport from your famaly.I am so sorry for you that thay are not more understanding.Both of my sisters are also nurses and have to deal with there own depression and pain from diffrent medical conditions so that helps me alot.But anyway I did not deal very well with my depression for a long time.My twin sister died unexpectedly 6 1/2 years ago.I tryed to pretend that I was fine.I messed up my life at that time.Then in Jan. I hurt myself very baddly.That is what caused all my medical problams.So now I deal with it because I know how much I really want to live.I take every day one at a time and give thanks to God that I have that day to deal with because I came so close to not being here.

I want to welcome you to the board, though we are alsway so sorry to know that someone else is suffering this way. It appears that you've had some technical difficulties, but I hope you will keep at it. I wanted to suggest that you copy the text from your post in this thread and paste it into a brand new thread with a topic of "introduction" or "new to the forum and needing support" or something along those lines. I am worried that people will not see that you've joined us, and also want to be sure that PaLady continues to have the opportunity to receive the support she needed when this thread began.

If you start a new thread, I think you will be amazed at the flood of support you will receive here. I'm betting PaLady will be one of the first to come along and encourage you, actually. She is so wonderful about that - even when she herself is in the midst of really rough times. That is one of the most amazing things about the members of this forum... The overwhelming ability to offer love and support and friendship to one another despite the horrible suffering that is a part of every single moment of our lives. It is humbling.

PAlady (and others) - no offense taken re: "the mind over matter" thing (it takes a lot to offend me, due to my many experiences...).  I just want to clarify, though, that I  know our minds play a role in our health issues.  It's very hard to convey a thought via an e-mail/message board sometimes!  I am a Christian woman and my faith plays a HUGE role in my outlook on life and my illness.  I know my posting did sound a bit negative; I'm sorry.  I should just speak for myself in that, over the last five years, I've received more info than I care to think about re: pain/health issues being caused by an unresolved issue in the past.  For instance, I grew up in an alcoholic family; and some have given me info that perhaps my "issues" are caused by deep-rooted feelings that stem from my childhood. This is just one example of many.    Someone please tell me that this is making sense somehow?    So, I definitely know that our minds DO contribute to our well-being.  My faith alone convinces me that there is a reason for all of this; so that in itself boosts my mood.  But, I also know it would be very hard for my "mental" issues to cause abnormal MRIs, CT scans, EMGs and so forth.  I don't know - maybe I'm just not wording it right??    Barbara Lee - Ditto to the others....welcome back; and keep posting when you can   Pamela - Two things: I bet the card you made was beautiful, honestly.  And, second, I really like what you said re: Here we can be who we are at the moment.  That pretty much sums it up for me.  It's really hard having six kids at home and having to show them that I'm trying to fight through all of these things (on the otherhand, those are the six reasons that I get out of bed each day, too...otherwise, I'd probably (actually, "would") be typing this from bed).  Point being, I feel this is the one place that I can let the guard down and let others know just how much I'm suffering at the moment.   Thanks for conveying that in much better words than I could have...   Everybody else (including Scizzy - welcome to the group)... my wishes for less pain, for all of us, today.  --Tina

PaLady,  I am sad that you are sad.  I totally understand what you posted.  As you so kindly put it, we all know and we all have been through this.  I know this wont help, but I will tell you anyway as a reminder your not alone.  I was forced to retire at 40yrs, torked me off to no end!!!!!!!!!    I got to the point where I just told my friends and family I don't want to hear about their jobs as I am flat out jealous!  I even remind them that their lives can change at any point and there employment can be taken away at anytime.  I have to remind them often, I have one friend who I SPAM all her emails, she called repeatedly and I refused to answer, finally I answered her call and told her to not call me again and I am sending her emails to spam.  The hardest part is when family don't get it.  Can't pick my family as I pick my friends.  I hope you are feeling a bit better by your replies you have received.  I am very sorry you are down right now.

Anyhoo, I just wanted to tell you about a relative who calls and prays for me over
the phone. This is such a sweet thing to do but unfortunately we have different
religious beliefs. (No big, I guess. I shouldn't bother me. I should just appreciate
it. Yes. I'm an ungrateful cow.



She always ends her prayer meeting with health tips. Right now she's on Purple
Grape Juice. If I drink that, she says, I'll be well. mmmmm hmmmmm.

This lady does not like the world as it is: all full of bad deeds, lust, pictures of
girls with skimpy bathing suits, greed ... Well, you get the picture. She doesn't read
magazines. I believe she's a 55-year-old Virgin.

It's good to know a variety of people. Tee Hee. Oh, I gotta git.

MomToSixboys, I've got to send you a little snippet of an article called "Charlie's
Mothers Exponential Theory on Boys. Pretty funny. Definitely true and loving.
