Disablity approved

 Just wanted to share this info i was approved for ODSP, i am to have a review of my disablity in three years. Still waiting to hear about getting to a pain clinic. I will never be able heal 100% but now i will be able to try different things to help cope. I am excited but scared. Anyway i will be in touch as to what they suggest for me at the clinic. ODSP Ontario disablity support program, and it was one year ago since i first applied, however i was working part time so will that affect how much or how little back pay i receive? I to was thinking about 10,000 or so but i thought that if worked during that time they may not back pay as much but prorate instead could you help me. I don't know the Canadian system, but in the U.S. it's based on the wages you've earned - a percent of them. And it dates back to the date your doctors certify you were disabled.

But I'm not an expert on this.

I think that i will only recieve a percentage as well have to wait and see, also to i have don;t have a specific time from doctors of when i was acutally disabled because i was having pain for a long time but still worked. Anyway they will figure it out bye for now Twiggy2

Good luck to Deb. Wow that was a really long time. If i may ask what is your condition(s) take care nice to meet you hope to hear from you soon. Yes by the way makes perfect sense, i on the other hand used too set my hopes to high and got denied and felt let down even though i was told i was probably was going to be. Hang in there. I try not to get overly excited about stuff as often for the reason being not getting. Twiggy2

We are kinda alike, anxiety/panic disorder, depression, 8-10 disc protrutions inpinging on spinal canal, a mild form of reumatoid arthritis in my knees and probably in my back too., so far on about 6 meds some of them i don;t take all of the time. Hope we will keep in touch. I talked to a lady from disability and she said it can take 4-6 weeks before my check comes and they will pro rate the 12 months as i was working part time during this time anyway take care Twiggy2.

Cogratultions Deb still waiting for mine to come, should be around the first week of december, but have a small problem with sick benifit they are cancelling me as of this month not sure why i have to call Mon to find out, i don't think they got my doctors note or it has been lost either way not good. Well how are you feeling, i was feeling okay two weeks ago i thought i was starting to heal a bit because my pain levels were down and then wham back again, my legs are tired like i cannot walk 5 minutes without feeling like i need to sit, Maybe it is the change in whether or my condition has changed for the worse and the pain free time was a calm before the storm, anyway i will keep you posted take care let me know how you are doing ok Twiggy2

I dont know how people in canada do it, I know that over my dead body I would be accepted having a different surgeon every surgery i've had, Ive had 22 outpatient surgeries and 5 major surgeries, in my eyes your surgeon is the dr you need to trust the most. he has your life in his hands, so why would you just accept any dr they feel is ok, clearly this is not the best route for medical attention.
