Disability Advice Anyone?

No problem, I kinda like being the 'odd-ball out' in these situations, you need different perspective. Which is why I always post in favor of prednisone when most others post the negatives, because I mean seriously if your disease is that bad, you wont bad talk prednisone, its a dream, or miracle drug to some people, seriously. Saves lives.

Hope all goes well, you have a good point about the pump, all though i dont know what you've tried in the past, because a pump is pretty much the extreme, I'd like to know why this is if you dont mind, I'm very interesting in pain control.

Crohns to answer your question about the pain pump..... I have been through so many pills & patches, nothing seems to work. I am also allergic to sulfa & my dr informed me that there are 3 kinds of opiod classes & we just wiped out about 50% of the meds I could take for fast acting pain meds. :( So we began to discuss the pump, and I had been scared to death of the conversation (though i knew it would come one day). I just have such a very high tolerance to pain meds. I had a gallbladder surgery when I was in my early 20's and ever since then nothing works well. I have also had many stomach problems, kidney stones, diverticulitis, gallbladder etc that has always required strong medication. And in the past year I have probably had at least 20 "trigger injections/epidurals/nerve blocks" and under all the time. I just think, I'm no dr, thats why my tolerance is so high. Just guessing. Anyhow, after finally doing some research on my own & talking to my dr the last visit he thinks its a great idea. Since I am 31 he says people who will be on meds long term its a better idea cause of the lower amount of meds in the pump & it bypasses the liver. And eases up on the constipation which I am all for. Susie has done a fantastic job discussing her pain pump in another post. She is the person to go to for the questions. All I know is my dr says we can have different meds that are better & stronger & can combine them into a Shannon cocktail, lol. He says there are better options..... . & I don't like popping pills everywhere I go. Tired of the questions & looks. People can be really insensitive. All people on pain pills are junkies you know. Geez. Don't get me going on that one. :( I also need to see a neurologist, my dr suspects I may have MS. Another dr- yeah! (maybe i DO need the pills after all, lol) BUT.....Thanks for the interest..... Hope you are feeling a little better today. -Shannon
