I've just been reading the posts from intractible chronic pain
patients and I am having some very angry feelings.

We are treated almost like second rate citizens. It's almost like doctors don't like
us or care to deal with us. Some of us have better luck with doctors than others.
It seems to be a matter of luck!

Intractible chronic pain has been around a long time. A lot of diseases have been
cured or helped tremendously -- our life-altering problems have been overlooked
and misunderstood. It needs to change.

Chronic pain effects all members of the family. (Those who care to stay around)

In many cases our pain can be as dangerous as cancer.

I did buy a pillow. And then I looked at the check book and asked husband
to take it back. Rent before pillows!
We have been so stung by the economic problems.

I am going to work on sending some letters to congress people and
maybe straight to the president. Nothing we do can hurt the situation.
I won't be starting till after Obama takes office. Poor guy, all he
needs is another problem. I will direct a letter to Hillary Clinton. I sure
hope she is Secretary of State. (I've corresponded with her before over
another issue)

I wonder what Dr. Laura would think? Maybe that's not her issue BUT chronic
pain certainly does effect the care of children and whether or not families
stay together.

I'm going to try to get a postcard or a letter out 5 days a week. They
don't have to be "good" They just have to tell the story.I like the first
post I made on this thread and am going to print it out and put it in
a folder.
