Wanted to ask if any off you all, that suffer with D.D.D. have gained any relief by moving to a dry

Hi you all,

 With everyday that goes by, my back is getting worse1 The D.D.D. is eating away at the lower part of the spine! I live in Kansas, and we don't get super cold, but our humidity is allways high, it will never get below 39 percent and right now we are at 41 degrees and 51 percent humidity! I can tell people when there is going to be a change in the weather!

 But what I have been wondering is, if I could move to a dry climate would it help? Has any one done this and had it help? It seems like when the humidity is low (which is very seldom) my pain isn't so serve! This was all based on before I started detoxing! I would be great full if anyone might have done this or know of someone that has! To up date you we have filled with the court to get a new doctor, but all the surgeins claim nothing can be done, we are just looking for someone to give me my scripts and to keep a eye on my organs! After what I have experence on the detoxing of the Fentanyl system, I don't know what to ask my new doctor when I get him or her, what pain meds to take?? The vicoden doesn't do anything! I would be much great full, if anyone might give me some ideas! i would love to be drug free, but we all know that isn't a options!

I don't know the answer to your question, Ace.
However, I do have a question for you.
My MRI's all show that I have osteoarthritis.
I have sharp pain with my arthritis.
Now I'm thinking that arthritis causes deep aching.
What do you think?

What??? Since when does it take a cancer diagnosis to get a mylogram?? I have had three mylos done since my back has been injured with no problems getting them done. It's a simple procedure where they inject dye into your spinal canal and take pictures of the nerves to see where the nerves are impinged. Yes it is dangerous if you do not follow the exact doctors orders, but so is many injections that we go through. Lie flat on your back after and drink lots of water and rest rest rest and you will be fine. I do not know why it was so hard Ace for you to get them to do a Mylo on you but that isn't usual IMHO and I'm even on Wyoming Workers Comp and got it done with no problems. In fact I am having more problems getting them to ok a Spinal Stimulator then a Mylo.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Ok what did they tell you that made you think that you had to be a cancer patient though?

Wow! KS is real messed up! I do know when I got ready to move down here from Wyoming I called around to see what I would have to do to get into a Pain doc. I happen to call the KS WC and the lady on the phone seemed put out when I asked what I needed to do to see a pain specialist. She told me that I needed to talk to my claims adjuster and when I informed her that I was in charge of picking my own doctor it seemed to take her by surprise. "You choose your own doctor?" she said. I said yes and she stumbled a bit and then she told me that she could not help me and hung up on me!!

Also I have never ever been questioned about whether or not I am or ever have "overstated" my illness or injury. Until I went to my new doctor. She was sitting there telling her about my injury and answering my questions and she seemed preoccupied with a piece of paper in her hand. She kept reading it over and over until I finally took notice of it and then she smiled and laughed slightly. "Someone sent me something stating that you have successfully applied for a antelope tag in Wyoming and applied for but were unsuccessful at drawing for a turkey tag in the same state." I was stunned at this! Why would it matter whether I applied for a hunting tag?? It's not like I actually hunted that antelope this year! But with my composure still in tact I said "You know I wish one of these snoopy people would actually tag along with us hunny," I said looking at my husband, "they would see how our style of hunting really is." Hubby laughed and said "Yeah, short days and lots of road hunting usually ending in you crying all the way home before taking your medication and falling asleep before we get home."

The doctor looked at my husband surprised and said "That's how you hunt?" Hubby nodded. "Then how do you get your tags filled?" she asked. "Sometimes we fill them...and sometimes we don't. It depends on how she is feeling and whether or not the pain is too horrible on her." Doc scribbled some notes on the paper and looked at me and said, "I wouldn't worry about this...just someone being nosy."

It's amazing how much we have to defend ourselves through the days to make people believe that we ARE in pain. Yeah I was irritated with this whole thing. I did not think it was any of their business whether I hunted or not. Every doctor I have seen in the past 8 years has told me I need to get on with my life and not dwell on the pain. But yet when I try to I am shown as "not in as much pain as I say I am". If I actually show how I really feel I would never get out of bed let alone get out of the house and I refuse to let the "Pain monster" win this fight. It's a catch 22 we are darned if we do and darned if we don't. I have been told I have no restrictions...only listen to my back and stop when it begins to hurt so what am I to do? Lay down and give up? That I will not do.

Anyway, I've rambled enough getting tired.

Oh that's no kidding PA! It's like you have to prove you have been hurt with WC of any state. The paperwork is horrendous and they go through all your background, its amazing that they get anything done other then looking into people's business. I had to have a psych eval for WC just to make sure I wasn't emotionally unstable!
