Yep, one more step in becoming a Manatee (sea cow) I will be more streamlined in the water w/o a belly button! I am very graceful for my size in the water, just like my favorite animals! Up where my wife is living in Citrus County is where most of the west coast population of manatees winter in the springfed rivers like Crystal & Homosassa rivers which we are very close to. It's so cool swiming w/ them! Some day people will not be able to tell me apart from them while we are swimming together! While writing this post RIGHT now I got a call from the nurse. CANCELLED MY SURGERY for tomorrow! Dagnabit, I already called everyone and made arangements! Now I'll have to change everything! It's next Monday so y'all are stuck w/ me for a few mor days!!!!!

B-U, It started as an innie then blew out to a nice round bulbus outie, but now we're going for the Flatty look, that is if the good doc can get his T-times straightened out!! The nurse said he had a death in his family?

Aw, sorry to hear that it got canceled! That is the worst. You've already planned for it, are anticipating it, and then bam! they make you wait another week! Hopefully it didn't cause too much of an inconvenience, but it sounds like it was out of the doc's control.

Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone! Dagger, maybe we can compare war stories after the cuttings> I went to the hospital for my pre-op exam/schedualing deal. I needed a chest X-ray, something my Doc hadn't given me which made my quick trip a lot longer. Then my nice nurse Sue told me I was scheduled for surgery b@ 3:30PM on Monday! Say What? There is no way Pete can go from midnight on Sunday till 3:30PM w/o a drink of water or COFFEE! Are they kidding? With all the meds I take that cause dry mouth, I'd end up w/ Sahara mouth!! I'm gonna see about changing it again today. I wish they had told me this prior to me paying them $200.00 co-pay at the Boca hospital as the Doc works at two hospitals and w/ my luck only does AM opp's in DelRay and PM opp's in Boca where I went!!! GRRRRRRR!!! Well things could be worse right? Stop whining Pete!
I'll keep you updated but it looks like I'm starting out on the wrong foot already!

Skeye, funny this post just popped up while I was on the phone w/ my lovely nurse Patty. We changed the date of surgery to Monday 2/16 as it was the 1st day the Doc had an early AM time open. The only thing is that day happens to be the day I will be turning 56 years old, old, old!!!! Yep, my BD, nice present eh? My biggest consern though is I've have been planning this trip for the next weekend for about a year now as a BD present to myself. I have my plane tickets & hotel reservations to go to High Point, North Carolina and am leaving Friday 2/20 at 6:30am! I love fly fishing and besides tying flys, I also build fly rods and other rods too, and have been doing it a long, long time. The International Rod Building Exposition is that weekend up there and thats where I'll be come Hell or high snow banks! I know, I'm kind of geeky bulding fishing rods but what else can I do for $$$ when I get older and can't work. My retirement has gone down the pooper so I'm going to learn some thing from the best rod builders in the world. This is the biggest show in the world and I can't wait! What's a little hole in my gut anyway? That just ain't gonna stop Pete this time!!! Nice custome fly rods sell for a nice chunk of jack and they wiegh only ounces so it's not heavy or hard work! My wife is not coming so I'll be flying solo, couldn't talk her into a weekend in Geeksville! I just hope she doesn't get pissed I'm going so soon after surgery. Screw it, right?

I had surgery to remove a mass in my breast last year. They told me not to take my AM meds. Soooo I go in and four hours later I have the worlds worst panic attack. I was dressed and out of there in 3 minutes. I called and they rechedualed me a week later this time they said I could take my meds with a small amount of water thank goodness. I also was marched into the day surgery area by my Dad and Boyfriend one had one arm one had the other There was no escape that time! Hope all goes well.

How in all the world of pain & depression did I miss your post and not THANK YOU!! Oh, I see>>You posted @ 9:01 and I at 9:07. That must be it, I was two fingering my post when you posted! See I'm not a bad guy. I would have agknowlaged your nice kind words but they were not there when I started! Thats my story and I'm sticking w/ it! Yes, can you believe this weather right after the last cold front? It's suposed to be beutiful this weekend! I think the rest of the gang should come down and enjoy it with us! Those red corvetts could get here easy by this weekend.
