Hi Me,
Glad you are scheduled but do you think you can really stay in the machine w/o coughing. You might consider taking some cough syrup before going or have some cough drops to suck on. It takes very little movement to mess up a scan. Most of mine are done with sedation. I was having lots of problems with restless leg type symptons and was trying to have an MRI done on one of my knees. It was a no go, too much movement, They sedated me the next day and it went fine.
You really should consider getting a home blood pressure unit especially with you starting a new medication for the high BP. My drs have all requested when being started on a new medication that I keep a log for 30 days to see how its working. They are reasonable to buy or you can spend a bunch of money on a fancy one that works no better than a reasonable priced one. I have gone thru several of them in the past. I have had high BP since I was 28 yrs old, I come from the bad gene pool, lol. My drs always holler about low salt, I am not a salt eater, its in our foods regardless unless you buy everything low sodium. Read your print out of your blood pressure medication, it should tell you the potential side effects of the medication. A cough is one, you won't know till you are over your bronchitis. Not everyone gets the cough from it. I take 2 BP meds a day cannot even remember their names.lol
It usually takes a couple of days for a written report to be made of the exam. I don't know how quick they can make a cd of your film, ask them. I have one waiting to be picked up, its the CT with contrast of my stomach for gi to review. Good luck on the MRI....Susie
