Again with the methadone?

I don't know about anybody else but I am so sick of reading about how bad methadone is...

What is it about Methadone that gets people all riled up?  I have taken it for a long time and have nothing but good things to say about it.  It's not even new anymore, so why is it getting such a bad rap when there are much worse drugs out there?

It's mostly stigma and a lot of ignorance about methadone's use for pain. My cousin is a pharmacist, and last year she went to a conference about methadone's use for pain and she even was surprised how effective it can be for some people. Most peolple associate it with addiction recovery, and just need to learn that it can also help with chronic pain.

Some dum dum think we're Heroin Addicts. That's the trouble.
I always say, "I take Methadone for Chronic Pain." It works. (Of course, I wear
glasses and that may help)

I take the same amount of Methadone that you take, Rhonda.
Someone posted that our dosage is NOT the highest we can go.
I can't find the post.
What do you know?
Actually my doctor told me I could take THREE more a day but
I haven't done it.
That's a lot. Or I think it is.
What do you think?

Pam you cn go to a drug site or even ask a pharmacist they can give you the max doseage. I was thinking I read somewhere its 160mg, but please do not take my word on this because I am unsure. Susie
