IV Sedation in MRI

They'll probably give you the injection before you go into the machine -- kinda like when you get die injected for an MRI, they always pull you out of the machine to give you the injection & then put you back. I wouldn't worry too much about the meds. As long as they know exactly what you are taking & how much, the anesthesiologists should be able to figure it out. They work with different combinations of meds all the time.

Good luck with the MRI! You'll be just fine! Oh, and here's a tip - they don't usually tell you this, but many times they can give you headphones instead of ear plugs & so you can listen to music in the MRI machine rather than all that noise! I know it can be done, because I used to listen to music all the time when I first started needing MRI's (and this was at multiple different MRI facilities & hospitals in 2 states). It was nice, but then I got so used to the MRI's, that I didn't really care anymore. Now I can usually sleep through all those nasty loud noises (which is surprising since I don't sleep in my own bed...), although it can get kind of boring. Sometimes you can even bring a CD of your own music with you & ask them to play it (otherwise you get the radio or their random music). It's just another thing that might help you relax.
