Just a reminder, I see a lot of people posting very interesting and attractive topics. You are getting a lot of responses and that is great.  But, a lot of these posts are running past two pages and going into three and four pages and that is not what the administrator wants.

So, please close your posts after two pages or so and restart again if you like.  You can use the same theme and continue it by just changing the title to  something like "Having pets and how they help your pain part two"  except with something relevant to your first post, of course.

Thank you for you ongoing cooperation and thank you for your participation in this wonderful forum.  I am so glad you all are here. yeah

Thank you, I did not know that this was against policy. I did go back and look through my posts to make sure that they were not getting past two pages. I read through the forum rules again and I only saw a rule about lengthy articles (as in publishing articles). Is this more of a courtesy thing than a hard and fast rule? I am not trying to challenge this in any way, I am just wondering if I missed something in the terms of use or the forum rules.

I was kind of curious about the same thing skrape is asking, also. I didn't realize we could only do two pages. I thought it was individual posts that weren't supposed to be lengthy. But I could have easily missed something!

When should we cut them off? 2 pages? Should we just request no more answering after we hit 2 pages and then let the Author cancel it?? You didn't really say. I don't have any problems w/ changing titles and starting over. I'm just worried about after I stop posting at night, my friends might pile up the posts on one of my subjects over 2 pages. I get so honored when they do it!! I just don't want anyone mad at me! I'm very sensitive like that, you can ask my boss! Ha Ha!

I didn't notice anything about a single post that shouldn't be too long. The only thing I saw was an item about articles:

9. No posts of lengthy articles. Sharing information is allowed, but the forums are not to be used to publish articles. It is an improper use of critical forum resources.

I do not think I know exactly what this really means. I would assume it meant something about publishing a medical article on here (or at least copying and pasting one in or something?!?).

Does this also mean that you cannot write a post that is too long either? Sometimes I get to typing and don't realize how wordy I am getting. How long would be too long on a single post?

OK let's clarify. You can post to your hearts content on each individual post. If the answers run over the two pages overnight for instance, Pete, then so be it. It is not a hard and fast rule, just something the administrator encourages that the threads not become too many pages. Cut it off at two or three pages and start again. No one is mad at anyone nor will they be.

You are all invaluable members of this forum and I really mean it. What you have to say is important and the feedback is just as important. I am not trying to stifle anyone's creativity or sensitivity here. Just keep it at the back of your mind is all, OK? Hope I have put everybody's mind at ease.

I find that having conversations started, then restarted, then restarted at somewhat random points makes it extremely difficult later on when you want to search for useful information that may have come up in a particular topic. In fact, this is the only forum I've ever been on that has such a rule, because most people recognize that centralized information is more accessible and efficient than random scattered bits of information.

Just a bit of food for thought.
