Switching from Oxycodone to Opana

Hi all,

After weeks of struggle to get Oxycodone frustrated by the shortage situation, my pain doc is switching me to Opana. Is anybody else on Opana and how well is it working for you? My doc says the Opana IR (not ER) is longer acting than the Oxycodone IR I have been on and it is twice as effective Mg for Mg as Oxycodone. We'll see. I had to special order the Opana, I hope that it is not in short supply as well. It is no fun running out of pain control meds which is where I am now. I would appreciate any input on your experience with Opana.

Opana is about $700 for a months supply...if Insurance doesn't help. Also, there have been a lot of bad press recently about it...So do your homework. Good Luck.
