I apologize for not being around lately but my pain has put me down as of late and I've been spending the last week in bed curled up with a good book or playing a game trying to distract myself long enough to quiet the screams. Plus....it seems that I have come down with the flu of all things! Spent the other night in the bathroom praying to the porcelain god (so to speak). Ugggg I hate being sick! As if it's not enough that we all have to deal with our CP getting another illness on top of it just really irks.

Anyway, I'll step down off of my soap box. How are you all fairing? I hope that you are getting more sleep then I am (4 hours a night) and that each of you are well.

things are so so for me and I'll see the neurologist tomorrow, but at least my hubby
took the time off to take me as I'd probably be to scared to drive...
Sure hope you have a better week this week scarred with low pain levels...

as for the not sleeping it sure must be contigious, was up reading a few "Zits" books
as I have a teenager and he hits somethings on the nail with teenagers, so I guess
if you gotta stays up it's better when you can laugh too......

I'm so sorry you are in the grips of the flue! Please take it easy and make sure to drink lots of Florida Orange Juice! or other liquids to keep yourself hydrated and wash the evil germs away! Hang in there, there are better days ahead!

So sorry to hear you were ill.  You can have your doctor cal in phenergen suppositories and they really help.  One year I got the flu so bad I couldnt even take a meclizine for the earps so my doctor called in the phenergren and I was set.  I still didnt want to eat anything but managed to save thanksgiving dinner.  In my family I'm the only thats cooks and the grandkids were all freaked thinking that mom was going to have to cook lol.

Well scarred I do hope you feeling at least a bit better now! Nothing is worse than "hugging the porcelain God" To me that's just about as bad as it gets!! with my disc's I get the electric shocks and needle sticks across my chest when doing the wretching routine! But it isn't pleasant no mater what the circumstances! So I do hope your much much much better now!

So glad to see both you and Pete back! I found out after my fusion surgery that the "porcelain god" wasn't going to work for me anymore. It is excrutiatingly painful, and I have to use a bowl or something else. Pathetic when we can't even vomit in our own toilet! Ok, TMI!! LOL

And it seems lots of us are dragging our feet these days.

Thank you so much my friends. Your well wishes are the best thing that has happened today! Even though I am feeling a bit better and my pain level is down YAY!! There is still much to do. Hubby's friends from home are here visiting and hubby is taking them turkey hunting tomorrow while I get to stay home and do a little gardening. I went shopping today and by god I decided that I needed a couple of new sundresses. So......I bought me two that are sooooo cute!!! You know I may be kind of a tom boy and I might like hunting, fishing, camping and all that other cool stuff but I still am a Woman and with that I like looking pretty!!

Anyway, just wantedto pop on and tell you all what is going on and to wish each of you a good night sleep.

Hi Scarred,

I was just thinking of you & wondering where you were! I haven't been around much in the past few days either. I've been having a rough time lately with both pain & other eye problems, and school. I am incredibly busy with the end of the semester rush, which means if I get on here at all, it's at 2 am! But hey, it's not like I'd be sleeping anyway. Just tossing & turning and cursing at the pain. Okay, I'm rambling on, but that's what happens at 2 am (especially when meds are just starting to kick in & pain is blinding me).

So glad to here that you are feeling better. It's not fun being sick, but being sick on top of CP. Aye. A nightmare. One of my docs told me yesterday that I was "one tough chick," well I think that we all have to be "tough chicks" when we deal with CP on an everyday basis! I know you are! You keep fighting, girl! Okay, I'm rambling again. Better end this.

Seems like this "not doing very well" syndrome is going around these days! Maybe it's the change of season - although I'm still waiting for our weather to make up its mind. We have patches of snow with grass growing through it that will soon need mowing.

Geesh. Make up your mind mother nature!

Scarred, I did not know if Toto was lost and you were out looking for him in the land of Oz or what. Thought we were going to have to send the Tin Man looking for both of you.

Yucks to what you have been dealing with. I already had that mess for a week and it made me feel awful. The body aches and pain was unreal. I do hope you are getting back on the mend.

Any words on the SCS yet-have you talked to your dr? Hugs, Susie

Scarred for life .... You must be an amazing person. You tell us that you have had a bad week but then you are wanting to catch up on how everyone else feels... You are my hero!!!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I think when someone has to deal with constant CP that we all start to worry about the people around us. I don't think we would ever want to wish CP on our worst enemies.

I'm so glad you are feeling better.........
