Hello all,

I have been reading here for a few days and am touched by the support and encouragement you give to each other.

I have also found information on diverse conditions here that I would not have found without spending hours on google...if I even knew where to start.

Since I don't know which forum I best fit into maybe y'all can help.

My Dx's are:

I have had a tennis ball sized Meningioma (benign brain tumor) removed almost two years ago, but it may be growing back. Must follow with MRI's.

Fibromyalgia.

Myelopathy C6-7 and Stenosis C3-7. Surgery recommended.

Stenosis and bulging disc at L-5. General degeneration in lumbar spine. Surgery recommended

Osteoarthritis in hands, knees and Left hip. No cartalidge left in right knee. Surgery recommended.

Migranes.

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Type 2 Diabetes.

Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome. Thyroid nodules. Extremely low Hgh levels and many other hormone imbalances.

Hence, my screen name. I am, falling apart in TX.

Welcome to Healing Well. You are always welcome to post to multiple forums. It sounds like you've got a lot going on & there are a lot of places where you could post (certainly the Chronic Pain forum is one of them).
Arthritis, Diabetes, Fibromyalgia & Migraine forums could also be of some help to you depending on whether you have a specific question about one of those conditions.

I think that the Chronic Pain forum is one of the most active forums so you are likely to get quicker responses here, but all of the forums have really good people in them. Also, you can always use the Search Site feature at the top to look up prior posts about certain topics.

So, that said, again, Welcome & if there is anything we can do to support you, just let us know.

I also want to welcome you to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. Frances has given you good overall information. Like she suggests, some forums are more active than others, so you could try posting to several and see where you get the responses you're looking for. I know here and the Fribromyalgia forum are pretty active, but I've not visited many of the other forums.

If you've been reading you know we're not doctors, but a great group. And a lot of us have more than one medical condition going on (stress and chronic pain kind of do that, along with life!), so if you have something to share or ask about a different condition, someone here may also be able to relate. The moderators are also fantastic and can help point you in different directions. The moderators for our CP forum are Chutz and Lindaloo.

Anyway, it's late and I can get to rambling as my pain meds are kicking in (I hope!) but I did want to welcome you and hope to see you posting with us whenever and wherever you want. Don't be afraid to just jump in. I am sorry for all you're going through, though. Sounds like you've got a lot to tackle, to say the least.

Wow, you have a lot going on! I'm so sorry that your plate is so full but as my two friends above have said, you have come to the right place! We are a diverse group who shair one major problem, we are all in pain from one cause or another. We all try to help each other with support, compassion, and trust. Lots of us talk about our other problems that are related to our physical problems like depression, family problems, stress, insomnia and many others. You can just jump right in with pretty much what ever is bothering you on any given day as long as you abide by the forum rules and you will get a responce by someone in a short time who is or has been there with advice or just a friendly hug> we are big on cyber hugs here! Believe it or not, they really do help! I love this forum and the people in it, They are there for me when no one else is. They are like family to me! I don't know too much about the other forums except the prostate cancer forum which helped me through a very tuff period in my life. I'm sure others will stop by to introduce themselfs shortly. Please stay with us, I'm sure you will be helped by the others.

Welcome aboard Falling. I can only imagine your pain with multiple problems. I only have two diseases and I know how painful it is for me, but with many it must be really hard. Sounds like you belong here with us in CP.

A little about me; I injured my lower back in August of 2000 when I was working as a CNA. Twisting my back to prevent a resident from falling caused two herniations in my lower back at S1-L5 and L5-L4. I had surgery to correct this but it re herniated and I ended up having a two level fusion in Dec of 2000. Two years went by with minimal pain until 2002 spring I was replanting my strawberries and suddenly felt my left leg searing with pain. Ended up causing the level above my fusion L4-L3 to herniate and had to have surgery again. After the second fusion I was alright for about 6 months but it came back and Doc discovered that the fusion did not take. So again I went under and a revision was done. Since then it has never been the same. I am back to where I was before the first fusion and am now awaiting (after tons of meds....procedures...and injections) the results of a Psych eval for the trial of the SCS device.

Anyway, hope you stick around. It's a pleasure to have new people come on board but I am too saddened by the fact that we have new people in pain.

if ya don't mind, Have you been seen by a pain management doctor?
Always, try the procedure before any surgery to see if they help..
Keep us posted, when you can...

I'm following Pamela and calling you Tx Girl...I hope that's okay... Welcome to our family of Chronic's.. tongue wink

 

You have been welcomed by the best...and I mean that!! We are all a family here, we take care of each other and want to add you to our family... I am sorry that you have so much going on, but you came to the right place.  We are a very diversed group with a lot of conditions.. we are not Doctors, but we can tell you from our experiences what we have been through.

 

So, I hope yo stick around...
