My "boys" got adopted!

the shelter....sure wish they all could be adopted...

Wow they are so beautiful!  My sister has a soft spot for tabby's.  Hers is named Tigger (Like on Winnie the Pooh).  I'm so happy they found a home together.  You will miss them but always remember their new family will love them to death.

As for Chole with "WWIII," you need to know a little bit of her personality. No one can touch this cat unless she decides that she wants attention (usually when you don't want to give it to her! or she is 'stalking you for cheese'). Otherwise she was bite, scratch, hiss, etc (sometimes without warning, she will be purring & all of sudden she decides she had enough & she'll bite you). You are very brave to try to touch her. Of course when I got her as a kitten, I had wanted a cat my whole life, so I smothered her with love. Well, she of course wanted nothing of it. But I was persistant. I still am. We have a "love-hate" sort of relationship. I always pet her and pick her up, even if she doesn't want to be touched (and I have many scars to prove it). According to my mother, though, she really misses me when I am at school because I am the only one who will give her attention. So I think she secretly enjoys the attention. Hey, without me to pester her, all she has for fun is pestering the dogs & Sammy (the are all scared of her, she is the queen of the house -- although we think she also wishes she was a dog). She used to go outside a lot & hunt, but the last five years or so, she has become lazy & is 95% a house cat.

Well, those are just the Humane Society photos. But if I could have picked up Schmutzie I would have had someone take a picture! I tried picking him up once - no deal. Marlo I could pick up for a bit and put him over my shoulder, but with Schmutzie being able to pet him just a tad was a great day!

I've gotten to know so many of the cats - especially the older ones who have been there awhile - by name now I feel like they're all kinda mine! But those two stole my hearts in a special way, yet I'm a sucker and while I'm giving the ones who are there treats I'm sure another "special" one will come along down the line.

Right now, though, it's actually a good set up for both me and the cats, as I'm not ready for an animal right now, and they need people to come in and give them a little TLC. Everyday I check the website to see who else might have gone home, but I'm glad I happeed to visit the same day my boys went home, so I didn't just catch it on the screen. It was much better to be told in person. Yes, it's kind of bittersweet, but I'm way more sweet than bitter! I had thought hard about bringing them home, but knew it would be too much for me to chase after them with my back the way it is. They were for someone a little younger to work with, or someone who had another person in the house.

They do become like children, at least to me.
