Fatherjohn Update

PAlady and Anice. It seems it was a late night for several of us. On my end, my wife left early with our daughter and my son was at a friends house so I a nice quiet house to wake up to. Then the phone started ringing as I am covering the center today. I love our students but it never amazes me what constitues an emergency at 8 am in the morning or at 11 PM at night. I asked one of them the other day what they would do if I wasn't available and they told me and I said good next time do it. They really are like little kids sometimes. Thats probably why I love them so much. I get to see the growth as many of them have not lived on their own, clean and sober for 20 or 30 years, some maybe never.

I checked and there should be son drug interactions with Coconut cream pie with any of our meds so we all have the go ahead and dive in. Actually I feasted on a piece of carrot cake last night with cream cheese frosting. This brings up another subject and I think I will start a new thread about eating since this one is getting long. By the way, I heard from Pete last night and today and he is doing ok and will posting again soon. He is keeping up with reading the posts and will be joining us again soon. It was good to hear from him. Have a great day.

Anice, my wife is joining me on this trip which will be good as she doesn't always get to go with me. I will be keeping the center on track by phone calls and it should be easy since many students are off on break. My son's name is Josh and at this point he is still excited about going. He said he knew it was a possibility when he signed up. He did not know that he was being assigned to Air Borne as he has not trained with them but has been assured he will get necessary training when he gets there. I was in the military and that means, you are trained on the job.

Patti, We will be staying at the Buttes in Phoenix. I have never been there but that is where the conference is. My wife loves the heat so she should be happy.

I'm posting a little late, as the eye has been quite horrible lately & so I am waaaay behind on all my reading. But I do want to wish you a WONDERFUL time on your trip! I know it is part work, part vacation, but I hope that you really get to relax & recharge! It's fabulous that you are finally sleeping through the night -- what great timing! Hopefully you'll be able to catch up on a little sleep in Arizona!

I am a bit worried about that tear that you felt, though! I hope it was nothing major, but the thought of it really scares me, because you are dealing with nerves! Was it today that you went to the doc? I hope he gave you an "okay." I'm sorry to hear about your son's deployment as well. That has got to be very rough on your family. I will pray that he makes it home to you safely & quickly!

I don't know where you'll be at this time, but I'm actually going to be in Orgeon at the end of July for a conference of biology nerds!

Yep, will be in Portland, but we may be doing some "exploring" before or after the conference. More on your other thread.

PAlady, we will have to see what we can do. We don't want anyone to feel left out. We are after all a family.

Yep PA you are correct 25 miles north of Philly, about 5 miles from Trenton, NJ!  There were actually 3 Levittowns, PA, NY and NJ (NJ changed to Willingboro)!
