Hi Tonya,
Its very good to hear your patch was increased and is working. That makes all the difference in the world when we take something that really helps. It sounds like you have a good dr and a good PA.
You know, I think when we all first start the narcotics routine we feel exactly as what you are feeling. None of us what to be labeled or judged by anyone. But ignorance is a big problem among people when it comes to chronic pain. But, do not worry about it, this is what you need to have quality life and thats very important. Also, keep it limited on who knows that you need medication. I have found the fewer that know the better. It is my business no one elses. Just be honest with your dr and let him know what is working and what is not working.
Its so sad that so many drs have the attitude of your prior dr. Those are the ones that do not need to taking care of chronic pain patients no doubt. The good news is you are done with him and no longer have that to deal with. it is very hard finding a good pain dr. I have one and I let her know on every appt how much I appreciate what she does for me.
Take care and have a good weekend.
