Swine Flu

I rarely go out in public and when I do, I avoid crowds of people like the plague.  I got my regular flu shot.  I started getting a sore throat and chills and my doctor call in an order of Tamaflu.  My sore throat progressed to a high temp and shallow breathing.  By the second dose of Tamaflu I was starting to feel a little better.

My PCP said they are seeing at least ten confirmed swine flu cases a day now.  I am lucky I caught mine early.  Just a reminder to everyone, stay out of crowded public places and call your doctor ASAP if you think your getting sick.  They  can give you Tamaflu only during the first 48 hours.

Sending lots of TLC your way! I've never had a flu shot, but just when I was going to get one we're having shortages around here - and that's of the seasonal flu shot. No one here even has any swine flu vaccine, but on the news tonight they said the CDC can't produce all they'd hoped for. Several of the schools here have reported cases.

Let's hope we all make it through this without turning into pigs!

Sorry to hear you got the flu, thats just a stinky deal. I guess they're just more worried about getting those swine flu vaccines out to children and pregnant women first, but I'm sure we could write up 20 pages in several days on the debate on the swine flu vaccine being good or bad for us lol. I'm really worried about if my children or I get the flu (seasonal or swine) if their will be enough tamiflu in the pharmacies for us cause so many people out their are freaking out and talking their doctors into giving them a prescription for "just in case". I'm just worried over that problem that just like the flu shot being out of stock, so will the meds like Tamiflu....

But anyways, I'm glad to hear you where able to stop it in it's tracks, being sick is never fun. I'm more stressed about getting my yearly strep throat like I've gotten every year since I can remember, it never fails, but somehow my kids never get it.

Everytime I hear about the "Swine Flu" I think about that episode on the Twilight Zone called "In the Eye of the Beholder" where everyone was pig-humans lol. I love the Twilight Zone, the black and white classic episodes made 20 years before I was even born LOL.

I had the piggy flu a couple of weeks ago. I took Tamiflu within 24 hrs of the first symptoms and was feeling great 4 days later. My fever was gone after three days.

Straydog, get the shot and an pnumonia shot, too. Very few people have an reaction to the shot. I usually have a warm, sore arm for four days.

I am just recovering from the swine too. Now my husband has it. He gets really sick in his lungs, so we are treating him aggressively. My daughter and her whole family got the flu too, but my daughter is the only one, besides my hubby that is really really sick. I can't wait for flu season to be over.

My five year old granddaughter started school in August and came home with strep throat. Oh this is lots of fun!!
