Been So Busy!!!

Susie, I must have not explained very well about the onions! Yes, I planted them in Fla. on our property where we now live about an hour north of Tampa. We still have our house in S.E. Fla. which we are having trouble selling> I wont go into that subject! That's where the orange trees are!



It's gets much colder here in the winter then down there. Down there the Gulf Stream keeps it pretty warm all winter but here those big N.W. cold fronts come through and usually die out before reaching S. Fla. We do get in the 20's on ocasion here but not for long. Those onions will be fine in the ground!


Yikes!!! I'll have to remember to take my testosterone out of the fridge early, thanks for the info!!!



One subject that I wrote alot about when I lost my post was the about SSD Cops! I don't know if they check on your activities or not but I do know that my older brother has been on SSD for about 5 years, he was a mechanic for over 30 years.



He works on cars and motor cycles in his driveway almost every day and has never been visited or caught by them. With all the people aplying for SSD these days> record numbers I heard, I doubt the government has the $$$ or the manpower to check on everyone. I may be wrong but I would guess that if they did, it would probably be on the younger people or cases that are suspect. I guess we'll have to wait and see??



Even if they did come out here, Rose the wonderhound would see them long before they saw me! She is a great watch~hound! The would also only be able to catch me working in the front yard, no way they could see me from the road out back by the barn or pasture.



One thing I would like to clear up! You may be thinking if this guy Pete can do everything he says he does, how come he can't still work? There is a HUGE difference now!!! I can sit down or stop and take a nap anytime I want to and I do!!! If something starts hurting really bad, I just stop for 5 minutes, an hour or a couple days!!! I could NEVER do that at my old job!!! My boss was crazy about anyone who wasn't working, even for a minute!!! That job was KILLING me!! Some of you may remember what I was like back then>>>

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest!!! I truely believe that I deserve SSD!!! I am 10 times worse off than my brother that gets it! I'm just not as lazy as he is even though he tinkers w/ cars and M.C.'s!! He would never attemt some of the things I get myself into.



I guess I'm just silly like that or just plain crazy!!



Well, I was up at 3:45am, back & neck pain> what else is new??? Drinking coffee and watching the stars and night sky outside w/ Rose. It was 48 degrees out there this A.M. and Rose went back into the house as if to say> "What the hell are we doing out here in the middle of the night in this cold?" She went straight back to bed w/ my wife and climbed under the covers! I came to the computer and did all my e-mail stuff then came here!



I took a video of the ditch I dug yesterday and sent it to my boys last night! I said I sure wish they were here to help old Dad! Before they joined the Navy, I had them working as Electricians Helpers out in the field for the companies I worked for at the time. They learned all about digging ditches in the hot Fla. sun!!!



I think it was a GREAT lesson for them. You don't want to have to be doing this for the rest of your life, do you?? I think it worked, they are both taking college classes in the Navy now and can go on the new GI bill when they get out if they want to if the don't descide to stay in and make it a carier!!



Well, I've babbled enough and should really be posting to some one else instead about myself!

Yes, She is our 4 y/o dog!! She adopped us when she was very young at a barn my wife was boarding her horses. She was chewed up really bad when she got away from her litter at some Mexican peoples house next to the barn. She wandered into a policeman's yard and two huge German sheppards played catch w/ her! When my wife found her, she had bite holes in her stomac and her rear end and legs were parralized.

To see her little face in so much pain just tore us up and the owners didn't want her and wouldn't take her to the vet! They had way too many dogs! So we took her to the emergency where they put her on an IV and antibiotics overnight. $750.00 later they told us that they were not sure she would make it. We took her home and she got better and started walking a couple weeks later w/ a lot of TLC!!!

Now shes part of our family and the nicest dog I ever had!! She's small, about 25lbs and looks just like a black lab puppy. Everyone who meets her thinks shes a lab puppy and just loves her!! Her mother was a pure bred cocker spaniel and her father was a blue tic coon hound! She has very short black shiny fur w/ a white chest w/ blue spots on it and looks nothing like a cocker!!

She truely is a wonderhound after what she had been through and she just LOVES it up here on our farm where we live now!! She's good w/ the horses and our parots. I love her soooo much!

I'm another one that has filed for SSDI. That's how I am too. I can still do stuff but not for 8hrs a day 5 days a week. Some days I can rake leaves for a couple hours and feel good but if a weather front is lurking around forget it, my whole body aches and it doesn't matter how many pills I take it doesn't cut the pain. How long has it been since you filed Pete? Mine was the first week of July and their still reviewing the medical portion of my claim. They've been reviewing for a awful long time.

I prefer my coffee hot & black too! Even the smell of those flavored coffee about makes me gag. My husband uses splenda and every once in a while I screw up and drink out of his cup. Yuck!!!!!

Thanks for you insight, I'm on the fence post about filing for SSI I retired in Aug 2007 but had planned to work part time but have been sick and hospitalized numerous times since I retired. I've had tons of surgery but I can't stand, sit or lay for any length of time or it gets worse. I might get more serious about it but know the red tape is frustrating.

I am like you when I feel well there is no stopping me I go for the gusto but when I hurt you can KMA cause it just ain't happinon. Your posts are very uplifting, thanks for all of your info.

Pete, Good to read your posts. I was thinking, as you go in for your psy. appointment, ask the doc if you can have two chairs one for you and one for your imaginary friend. When he asks you a question just ask your friend for advise before answering the doc. I will keep checking in. I have had a long week as I have been in meetings and now have speaking engagements both Sat. and Sun. then back in the classroom Monday. I have advised my staff that I will be taking 4 day weekends for the remainder of the year. Don't forget to take a few days off and get that boat running. I will keep in touch. Blessings!

Pete, I didn't have any mental issues on my claim that would prevent me from working. I did mention being depressed on it so when my claims person did my phone interview he asked me about it. I told him I felt depressed by the fact that I was no longer able to work or provide any income for my husband & myself but he asked me if it prevented me from working and I answered no. I do know that records from my othopedic surgeon, a rheumatologist I had seen and my PM doctor all sent in my records in a timely manner but I haven't heard anything since. All I do know is that my medical records are in review.

I did speak to my claims guy last week to make sure my med changes and the fact that my PM office won't do anymore injections for at least 6 mos due to my shingles after the last one. He told me they were very back logged and he hoped to hear something this coming week. I told him I understood that he was very busy and thanked him for all his help. That's all I know. Sure could use some money though cause things are getting very tight financially and if something doesn't happen soon I don't think we'll be having much as far as Christmas this year.

Did you get all those onions planted???wow...try to take it a lil easy on us regular folks...lol...
