plz help anythoughts welcomed new here..will my back ever be the same?

i need help cause im scared this pain is for life and i cant work anylonger

i have ddd effecting my lower back and seens to have also effected my blader

also i have chrons but its not on the books cause the surgen that found it died shortly after he foun it

i get a dull pain in the lower back and when i do pretty much anything active i end up bedridden for days after ward

i also have compressed my c5 and c6 along with a t5 in my neck was fractured

now i never finished school so i have always been a grunt worker to make a deceant wage

which is totally out of the question now. i cant even wash dishes without extreme pain tht lasts for days

i can do minor activities but i always seem to be in massive pain the next day for a few days

after the neck injury iv started to get migraines to add to it all :(

am i eligable for ontario dissability by what u see here?i understand it a educated guess but would love some input on this

im being treated with a decent amount of pain killers but the problem there is after a cpl years they are uninfective and doc doesnt wanto keep giving me more an more as im only 35 now

any ideas or thoughts would be great and i thank u in advance

 

Ace, welcome to the HW forum. This may sound very elementary but we are here because Chronic Pain has embedded itself in our lives and for many of us, the miracle treatment, drug or procedure has never been ours. For some of us, our hope is that life is going to change drastically for the better is there but that is where it remains. Even with the constant Pain I am one that continues to work. I don't have much of a choice. I am not eligible to apply for disability and my family still likes to live in a house and eat, plus, work is an escape as much as a cause of pain.

I advise you to take a deap breath and realize that if you are like many of us, you are in for the long haul. There are some that find relief and healing and they are no longer battling the pain. Whether you are eligible for diability would be a question for an attorney that specializes in it. There are many here that have applied and their stories are varied.

What kind of dr are you seeing? If he/she is not a pain specialist, that would be a good place to start. If you are going to apply for disability, make sure you have records ov everything that has taken place, all drs, tests etc.

Ace Ace Ace...I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time of it.  I am 42 and have had back problems since I was 20, so I understand the questions.."Is this what I have to look forward too?" and "Why can't I just be normal?"

Hell, I'd settle for 2 days out of 7 at a pain level of 4 or 5...that would be a nice break.  Only in a perfect world...

 

We are not alone, and here we have many friends that are in the same place.  I am at the point where I have no options left, I have already had two surgeries, the latest was Spinal Fusion about 4 years ago at L4-S1 without hardware.  The only thing left for me is pain meds forever.  I have resigned myslef to that but I still get sooo freakin depressed sometimes.  Taking the meds help but not enough for me.  All I want is to be able to do the things that other people my age do, whatever that may be.  I can't even stand at the kitchen sink without having to lean on it after 2 or 3 minutes, and forget about running the vacuum cleaner, dusting, walking, sitting, standing, laying...you name it and I can't do it.
