Pete, I think in your last post you had an appt with an SSDI doctor today.  Let me know how it went.  Looks like you filed your claim about 3 wks before me.  I do hope we both get it the first time around.  How's it going with the lawyer you got to help represent you?

By the way, I did check out your brother on Itunes.  Sounded like I was back in New Orleans again (got to visit there when in the military, was attending a school in Meridian, Miss).  He is very good!!!

I went to my apt. today and it was a breeze! I was expecting to see a dr. but it was a nurse practitioner, a young man probably in his early 20's. They gave me an eye exam, weighed me, mesured me> I lost almost an inch of height!! Maybe from my fusion and all my other ruptured discs??? I went fro 6'-3" to 6'-2" & 1/4" not that it bothers me, it doesn't. Then they took all my vitals> b/p, temp heart rate, all the usual.

The the kid asked me a bunch of questions about family health history and started asking me why I was applying for SSD. I just told the truth and went down the list of everything wrong. finally he gave me a flexability exam which kind of hurt some. You know how far can you bend over and how far can you bend your head back? He went through all my parts like that, I don't bend very well so I probably di good as far as getting SSD!!

The only bad thing is SSD wanted Xrays of my left hip and knee but the guy said the limit on their xray table was 250lbs. well I weighed in at 262lbs and he said he wouldn't risk it! So SSD will have to send me to another place at another time to get xrayed!!! Crapola! How long is that going to take?? Guess I shouldn't have had that pizza when I was back at my other house last week!!!!! First pizza in a looooong time!!

That was about it> easy~smeasy!!! My next apt is w/ the shrink on the 23rd. I guess it's just a waiting game!

Hope you don't have to wait too long to get the x-ray's. Is that where alot of your pain originates is from the hip & knee, we already know you have issues with the back? Or are they checking to see how much arthritis you have?

They did a flexability test on me when I first went to my PM doctor and I don't flex too well either so that was already in my records that were sent to SS. That was right before I filed so it was current information.

Your about the same height as my husband. I have to order all his pants off the internet cause you can't find 36" inseams in a store. Also if you go to Penney's big & tall department all the clothes are kinda dorky.

I'll let you know if I hear anything on mine, thanks.
