Follow Up with Pain Doc on Monday am

A few of you were aware I just started to see a back pain specialist in Nov.  Quick update for my pain from back and nerve leg pain due to severe ddd, 2 herniated discs L5-S1, severe narrowing of spinal cord, and oa all in same area. 

I had a bilateral flouroscopic steroid injections on 2 Dec.  It helped I would say like 50% or more but only for about 11 days.  Then nerve pain has started to increase since then. Currently I believe I could say I am having about a 25% decrease from initial.

Maybe offered another treatment in am. What would you do? Procedure was quite painful. Will it improve more or is it just a temp fix?

Doc also said we may look at treating back and oa next.  Ie,,,surgery or other treatments.

IDK it was painful but still in pain now so hard to decide.

thanks for replying to my post!  Also looks like you win the prize as being the first and only but that is ok it is a busy time of year for people.

i went to pain doc today and i saw the PA not Doc today.  We discussed how the last injections helped and how much etc... She also asked it my legs hurt when the medicine was given and I said Oh Yes bad.  She stated when the nerves and such are inflamed it can cause alot more pain.

Well we decided to another round of injections hopefully next week.  And maybe it will not hurt as bad this time. ;)

PA also refilled my percocets and I was on my merry way.

Thanks again for the info and I will do another round.  The last one was so painful I was thinking not even though it has helped with the pain.

PS You should give it a try and see if you can find some relief.  It is worth it I think.
