I'm very excited as well. Having been a high end competitive athlete for so many years, I love watching both summer & winter Olympics (but especially the summer, because that is when the swimming -- my sport -- is on). I've even known someone on the USA Olympic Swim Team. I watch the live USA swimming trials as well because I tend to know a lot of the competitors, some of whom just barely missed the 2008 team. I also know someone who competed in the 2006 winter Olympics & will be competing again this year. She just missed the gold last time (she should have gotten it, but she goofed off & fell at the very end). It's a small world.
I think the winter Olympics has more events that more people are interested in, though. I like most events in the winter Olympics, especially the figure skating, downhill skiing, speed skating, and bobsledding. Boy, just talking about
this is getting me excited! I hope I get to watch it regularly in the evenings, be nice to me schoolwork!
Sorry, Suzanne, but I have to root against you.
GO USA!!!!
