Hi Everyone, sorry i didnt update you yesterday I was just feeling so sick and I was up for 3 days. Dr changed my sleep med to ambien and I finally rested last night. Anyways I seen the dr my fever is from my gallbladder he is not worried about it bursting since I have no gallstones. He said what is wrong is my gallbadder is its not functioning  . he is  treating my symptoms til I can get insurance to have it out . Which is hopefully in the next 10 days we filled our income tax and using some of that money to get insurance so I can get my gallbladder out. He upped my stomach med which im taking every 8 hours now its helping a little . My back pain is not that bad right now  but i suspect it will be later because we have rain moving in . I susupect arhtur will speak up . I have filed for disability im still waiting to hear back from them. Im just surviving the best I can right now . I hope everyone has a low pain day.

Hi Kimber, glad you got into the dr. and found out what was causing what. It can be trying at times for sure.
We had rain and a cold front to move in yesterday and I was unable to stand up straight the entire day. Today is no better, pain from hell all over.

I hope that you can find insurance that will not have a clause for pre-existing conditions . My husband just turned 65 so he is now on Medicare and we had to purchase a supplemental policy in addition to Mediucare to help defrat some of the costs. The policy has a clause & exclusion and will not pay for treatment for a pre-existing condition for 3 months. Be sure to check on this, most ins companies does this when people get new coverage. Ask & read the fine print. Take care of yourself.

Stray, I did my gallbladder is not a pre-exsisting condition its a recurrent one. I already have a long talk with my dr he is willing to back me up and make sure my gallbladder surgery is covered.

Kimber if you have had problems with your gallbladder in the past and the fact that you are having problems now, this is considered a pre-existing condition by insurance companies. The only way a dr could state it is not a pre-existing condition is to state that you have never had a problem with your gall bladder befoire and I don't know any dr willing to to write such a statement. The only reason I am familiar with this is I have dealt with this with insurance companies alot.

If you obtain insurance that does not have clauses for pre-existing conditions then you will have no problems. But, if the policy has clauses for pre-eixsting conditions you could have problems. It depends on the provisions and language of the policy.

I am confident that my dr will make sure i will get my gallbladder removed. but thanks for your advice. I am not worried about it.

Susie really is right about this issue. I know you're confident about your doctor, but this is an insurance issue not a medical one. Bottom line is you need to ask the insurance company if they have a clause that denies coverage for pre-existing condition (not recurrent ones), and, if so, what are the details of the exclusion - which is usually a time period like I mentioned in the other post to you about insurance. Some insurance companies may allow you to purchase extra coverage which will cover a condition.

You can ignore it if you want, but be aware you may get stuck with the bill, no matter how much your doctor says he will fight it. There are records documenting your recent treatment, so if there's an exclusion for pre-existing conditions with the insurance you'll get stuck with the bill. It will only take a phone call to find this out, and save yourself a lot of grief in the future.

Billing is an entirely separate piece of the health insurance issue, and the medical piece and the billing piece - well it's kind of like the right arm often doesn't know what the left arm is doing.

If you don't care if you get hit with a huge bill for surgery later, then I guess that's your choice.

kimber boy I know what your going through! I had problems with my gallbadder for a long time! The funny thing was I was nauseated all the time and sick to my stomach! I never had abdominal pain but instead back pain under my right lower shoulder blade! I remember going to convenient care about the nausea and vomiting, and the Doctor pressed rather hard on my right upper abdominal quadrant and asked me it it hurt, I told her that it did not hurt my adominal area, but it the pain was terrrible in my lower right shoulder blade when she pressed on me like that! She immediately sent me for a hida scan. I did not have any Gall stone either, my gallbadder just was not functioning, and I ended up getting it removed! It is a pretty easy operation, and is usually done on an outpatient basis! Hang in there, try an avoid any greasy foods while you are waiting, that may or may not help but it often can make it easier for a person, until they have the surgery!

       Just a quick note to say that I hope the medicines and treatment are enough to keep you some what "comfortable" or atleast able to function until you can have it removed. Keep us update with how your treatments are going. Stay strong!!!!
