Stella Marie I am glad your dr was open to this subject. It was something I certainly never thought about. But, after seeing that pump on an xray and thinking about the medication sitting there for nearly 90 days in that small dark place for some reason it just made good sense. After all, the medication is not in an air tight place when you think about it. I can see the mechanics of that small amount of medication losing its punch just sitting there.
I am so greatful for my PM dr, because she taught me more in one visit about pumps than I learned in 4 1/2 yrs with my prior dr. I know this lady is sharp because she knows compounds and does her own mixing right there in the office, It takes a very smart dr to know them and it is a gift.
My old PCP knew compounds, his father taught him and it is a true gift. Some of the stuff that man could come up with and it worked, lol. I use to tease him and tell him he was an old witch dr. He was old school he did surgery to delivering babies, he was from that era, very special. I loved him dearly.
