Hi my CP Friends,
I spoke with tmj (Suzane) around noon my time which would be her 1:00. She said she had a terrible night with a lot of pain and nothing that touches it for any kind of taking the edge off or anything else. The nurse came by this morning and as Michael reported they changed her subQ spot because her other was reddend and getting sore. She also said the nurse was checking in with the doc to see if they could increase the Ketamine a bit so maybe it would start easing more.

I told her everyone was keeping her in our thoughts and hopeful that this will impact her in the way she desires and that things will be better for her soon. I will call again this weekend and will update as I find out more news. Michael and I are talking about everyday so we don't repeat as much on the forums. The nurse comes in daily around 10 so if you would like to call her I would suggest either early morning but if she has had a bad night sometimes that might not be the best. I've waited most times until early afternoon and try to keep my visit short so she doesn't have to waste energy that she doesn't have. She does like the calls and especially the prayers and well wishes.

I'm praying for her as well.

I too called her this morning, and got the same report from her as well. Cathy, I expect and address from you for her, so that the wife and I can send a card too. It is a really sad thing to actually talk to a member on the phone and hear the pain ringing through the phone line. It is awful! She actually begs for help, and there is nothing we can do for her, but to listen and support and pray for her. It is so heart breaking to me! Chronic pain is a very serious thing on ones life, and can absolutely destroy a person in a very quick amount of time, especially if you're not getting any relief from medications. Her family has been affected by this also, and they are very worried about her. I can still her her begging for me to help her on the phone, and will never forget the helplessness that I feel. It makes me want to just bawl. Please do keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Hello all! I did get to visit with Suzane by phone this afternoon, and she is basically the same as yesterday. The pain is still intense for her, and she is so worn out. She did say however, that she did get a good nights sleep, something she has not gotten to do in quite some time..several years in fact. We will check on her tomorrow and report back when we know something...as she is not able to get on the computer at all. She also, told me that she had her husband print off some of her emails and read them to her today, and she enjoys that greatly.

I visited with tmj around noonish today. Her homecare nurse was just leaving and they had changed the drip site and increased her meds. She didn't have as good a night last night as she did on Saturday but was able to sleep a bit. She said the night before she had slept 9 hours and her hubby was worried about her and made sure she was breathing on Saturday night because she was sleeping so sound. She is still having pain and of course would like for it to be gone but the treatment was supposed to be for 5 days and yesterday would have been day 5 and the doc has decided to keep it dripping. I told her I thought she sounded better and she said that some of the other friends had said the same so...maybe some progress?? Let's hope that is what is happening...

Well...I just got off the phone with tmjpain, and I was shocked to hear how well she sounded tonight. It was wonderful, and she said that she now had some hope. I asked her how her pain level was, and she said an 8 to a 9...which is better that is was for sure. She is still not sleeping very well, but again sounded so good to me. It was like talking to another person. Lets all hope she keeps going in the right direction.

I will sure do it Skeye, and really I do tell her that we are calling on behalf of the members here. When she started out the treatment was only supposed to be for 5 days, but then the Dr, decided to increase the meds the third day into it. I think now that there is some progress, they have decided to extend the treatment, but I really don't know for how long.

My guess is that they will keep increasing the meds until they find a level that she can live with. I also think she will post here tomorrow, as she gets to feeling better. Again, I was so surprised to hear her voice, and how well she sounded...it was like night and day to me! I watch members here post horrible problems of themselves, with their pain, and I wonder and cringe at the thought of it all. But I have never listened to someone on the phone before in that kind of pain, and hear them begging for help, and was almost more than I could bare. It was terrible I tell you! Thank you, to all of you that have asked about her, as it has meant a great deal to her. I also wanted to Thank Privey for all her help as well, and for the phone calls she made to Suzane these last few days. Lets hope tomorrow brings even more good news about her.

I will certainly do that Catahoula! It means so much to her to know that the members from HW care. I did just get off the phone with her just minuets ago, and again, she sounds very good. She was even laughing and giggling, and I have never known her to do that before. This is a good sign I think, but I still think the jury is still out on her treatment. She said that last night was a little rough, but was doing better this morning. I asked her if they were going to up the med a little more, and she was not sure yet, but thought they might. If anyone wants to email her that would be great or if you want to send a card, she would ole that as well. Privey will check on her this afternoon, and should report back this evening. Thank you all so much for your support for her. This is where the members really shine here on HW.

Chartreux,...broken ribs? That sounds horrible! I knew you were pretty sick, and we all worried about you. We are glad you made it through though! Privey was going to call Suzane, and I made sure to tell her that you were asking about her, and a couple of others as well. Also, my surgery date was moved up to March 1st, and honestly...I'm terribly worried about it, but at the same time, I very happy it is almost here. I know that is won't be fun, but I just have to try it. Lets hope Suzane pulls through this as well, and comes out with flying colors. You take care of your self Chartreux, and come to the chat when you can. I check each and every time to see your Kitty symbols at the bottom of your replies. They make me smile for some silly reason.
