New house nearly there

New kitchen, new bathrooms, everything organised around my crappy joints, so I can easily open things and cupboards are mainly all off the floor. Including my fridge. Oven etc. I will need to employ a cleaner but I am soo excited.

My new pain meds are really working for me too. I'm on a 25mcg patch as well as the 12 mcg patch of fentanyl, I probably need something for bt but overall I feel really good. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner, not to have 2 hours relief and then 2 hours waiting to take my next tablets, is just so good. I know there are probably going to be down times but right now I'm riding a wave of happiness.

My rheumy wants to put me on MabThera. Its another chemo related drug used to wipe out B cells, seemingly with RA the B cells can go into over production and these cause joint damage. I need to find out more about it before I agree to this new treatment but its another option. I have to wait 6 more weeks for the remicade to get out of my system before I am elligible anyway so I have lots of time to mull it all over.

I think the house is giving me a wonderful high, I'm trying to enlist a lot of favours from friends to help with the move, my knees and feet are making it hard for me to get around let alone move house, but I will direct boxes and try to organise.

Just thought I'd let you know what I'm up to. Start back at University on the 1st March, so I will be all moved in by then! Golitho

My GP has put me up to 50mcg patch now as she is still not happy with my pain, so even better.

I said yes to the new med with my reumy so she has to now set the wheels in motion to get government approval etc etc. But in the meantime is organising me to have trigger point injections of steroids in my feet or ankles under X ray to try and give my feet some relief. So everything is happening at once.

Cross your fingers the injections work. I have to ring up and book that later.

Skeye I'm not pain free but I feel on top of it, able to deal with it plus I seem to be able to think clearer and make decisions. I think all that pain was clouding my judgement and I hadn't realised!

    Good morning!!! It is so good to hear from you! *hugg* I am terribly sorry I am so late responding but things have been hecktic around here. Tis the season of sharing (even colds!). hehe.

    I am so glad to hear you will be moving soon. This will be wonderful for you! Oh how nice it will be to not have to dealw ith so much stress. You will have to be sure to tell us how it feels to have everything just where you want it. I agree that hiring someone to help with the house cleaning will be a large burdon off your shoulders! *huggs!* Oh how exciting!

     The new treatment option is a little frightening! I knwo it is just because I dont understand the dynamics of RA but gosh. Thats has got to be a very large decision to have to make. I sure hope that what ever you decide you are comfortable with, and willg et some much needed results.

Hi Dani, you hit the nail on the head. I am extremily worried about losing my B cells, the trouble is I don't feel I have an option. My rheumy will admit me to have this infusion so they can monitor me over night for any allergic reactions. I am happy with this decision because the last infusions made it so hard to breathe, always a bit scary.

When I first started with this disease I worried about the toxicity of all these meds, now I realise if I don't take them I am going to be so much worse. But the thought of being open to virus' is fairly daunting. Because I have to wait so long before I am eligible for this infusion I am trying not to think about it too much. Any research I have done on it is pretty scary. I know its used in conjunction with chemotherapy so most people on it are much sicker than I am.

I have so many joints involved in this flare I have to try something. But oh the decision to take such a heavy duty med is very daunting and quite terrifying.
