Hi Hydrangea,

I've been dealing with chronic pelvic pain for several years now. My pain doctors aren't 100% sure what is causing the pain, but it appears I have several trigger points deep in the psoas muscle that they can't seem to "fix". I've had a couple injections, including one Botox, and I have another Botox scheduled in April. My pelvic physiotherapist has been unable to release the triggers and this is why my doctors had a hip MRI done, to see if there was something else causing the muscles to be out of whack. It turns out I have FAI - Femoralacetabular Impingement, which basically means the head of the femur doesn't fit into the hip socket properly and there are tears in the labrum as well. This could be causing my whole pelvis to be out of kilter, and so the muscles are all in spasm.

I'm waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon to see if surgery is the next step...and I'd probably have to have both hips done over time. We're hoping that this will clear up the pelvic pain, but I also have a lot of scar tissue from lots of surgeries, so I'll probably always have some pelvic pain.

I live in Canada, so I don't think a doctor or hospital name will be helpful, but I really appreciate you asking and thinking of me!!
