I think I may be nuts!!

Hydrangea for your sake I hope you are making the right decision. But, I must say this, I have seen this happen repeatedly and the folks end up going back about 10 steps which makes it even harder at a good come back. Reality is you are fresh post-op, you are not even healed on the inside. it is wonderful that you are feeling so well, but that can be snatched away very quickly. I am surprised your employer is letting you come back this soon. Are you worried you may lose your job? Please be very careful. I just hope you don't mess a good thing up. Good luck.

If you are going to start back at work, you might think of only going in for a partial day. It may not seem like much now, but you'll probably find out that you use your back a lot more than you thought.

Don't rush into things too quickly. You just had major surgery & you need to give your body time to heal. Good luck.

First off, I am SOOOO happy to hear you are feeling so good after your surgery. It must feel amazing to go from unbelievable pain to feeling darn good. That being said, I hope you will decide to do part days/half days for the first little bit, so you don't overdo it. The last thing you want and need is to set your recovery back to where you were pre-surgery...or worse!

I hope your employers have a "return to work" plan for you, and that they're not pressuring you to return too quickly. As bored as you are right now at home, you might want to consider staying home at least for the rest of the week and maybe going in for a bit on Friday afternoon, when it's generally quieter at most places of employment. People will also want to "visit" and you'd be surprised how quickly that can wear you out.

I know you'll make the best decision for you and your body, but I care enough to want to add my two cents worth here.

      Good morning *hugg* It is good to hear from you. Even better that you are down to tolerable levels of pain. Thats awesome!! But, I was thinking, perhaps skeye has a good suggestion? Perhaps just half day and see how it goes?

 

     I wont ramble on, just wanted to stop by and tell you how wonderful it is that you are healing so well.

Awesome-please go slow and easy, remember to be kind to yourself and your body. Avoid bending for at least 6 weeks. Yes, let those kiddos clean the kitchen and anything else they can do around there to help you out. I would rather read posts saying you are feeling great rather than not, surgery was a major event, please remind them at home. Why is it, before having surgery we nearly kill ourselves to get everything done and ready. Then in a few short days it looks like we did nothing, so frustrating, but thats ok, it will be there later. By chance did your dr tell you that walking is the best form of exercise to help build your strength and stamina? Take care.
