update

Hi everyone,im still sick from the hida scan but  it showed my gallbladder is only functioning at 50 percent. Surgery for removal within 2 weeks. When I have a date for surgery I will let you all know. I hope everyone has a lpd.

Hello Kimber9807! Sorry to hear that your sick, but at least the test showed what it was supposed to. Now we have to get you well! Let us know how the surgery goes, and they have that down pretty well now. I'm sure you will feel much better once that is done and out of the way. Take care!

I'm so glad you're going to have this problem resolved soon! Like WhiteBeard and others have said, once it's out you're going to feel a LOT better! I had mine out back in 1969 (I was only 19!) and it was a much bigger deal then - didn't have the laproscopic procedures they have now, so while this is still surgery, it's not going to be like a huge cute or anything. I still have the scar in the middle of my abdomen - and you won't have that.

Try to take it easy for the next couple of weeks, follow docs orders and eat bland so as to not aggravate it too much, and in two weeks you'll be on your way to recovery!

Good luck with your surgery. I had this done about 8 years ago and, although it is surgery and should be done by a surgeon specializing in abdominal surgery, it was nothing next to the others I have had. The surgery was no where near as bad as the stomach virus I got the day after I left the hospital and the complications that it caused after the procedure.

I will keep you in my prayers.

On a separate note, I just spoke with my sister-in-law (a nurse) who apparently had emergency gallbladder surgery this past Saturday. She says she is home and doing very well, but will be out of work for about two weeks. Her gallbladder was highly inflamed and had a stone stuck in the duct. The surgery was a great success and she is feeling much better now.
