I went to my very first apt with the pain management dr yeaterday. He decided to do a trigger point inj in my neck, (OUCH!) It was horrible! I am in even more pain today!! This really sucks. Then placed me on Lyrica.

I dont like it there, I dont think I will go back.

I think I am just gonna give up on all this crap. Why bother......

One common problem you run into when you switch Doctors is they want to start over from scratch.

Also, When I came in to work today, they moved my desk to the back corner, all alone, away from the rest of my department. Packed all my stuff in boxes. If any of you remember from my other posts, I think they are trying to get rid of me.

I am so sick of everything!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a picture with your cell phone of where your desk is now and the way you found it when you came in and document it.
If you had any personal items taken make a compliant in writting. It should not be legal that they can move your stuff without your permission.
Try not to let on that they are getting to you as they might keep this up, it might get worse, please know that we care and
hopefully your lawyer can get this to settle down...
Sorry about your PM Doctor's appointment, seems like it didn't go well...I had injections in my neck and it's a lot harder than when they
do the lower lumbar, I remember it made my neck very sore and I couldn't move it for 3 months and it still feels weird, no more injections
for my neck ever...Sure hope you can get a low pain day soon...

I don't think we have had the opportunity to meet, so I wanted to first say hello!

I totally understand your frustration, but I want to encourage you not to give up. The right doctor is out there, you just have to find him/her.

As far as work goes, yes take pictures of what they did with your things, and also consider keeping a journal - write down anything out of the ordinary - comments made, if you are singled out and treated differently than the other employees, etc.

Feel free to vent, rant, cry, or whatever you need to do here as we understand what you are going through unlike anyone else.

Donna,

Don't give up, its not worth it although right now, you may feel differently. I have had more trigger point injections than I could possibly count. That is how I was able to continue working for so many years. Alot of times it takes a couple of days for things to calm down, I hope they do for you. Lyrica can often be very good for nerve pain if given in the correct dosage, sometimes it has to be increased.

I would suggest that do do as the other suggested, take pics of what they did at work. You might also take some of the area where your desk was at before. Although it was a crappy move on their part, I feel quite certain they can move your desk where they want w/o any legal ramification against them, its their property and they own it. I would suggest you contact an atty and discuss the potential of a discrimination claim and see what one says. In the event of termination I would look into an unwrongfull termination claim. Just some food for thought.

Reading your post breaks my heart.......please know that many of us are here for YOU. :-) Please don't give up - I know it seems like things are piling up and you can see no end it sight.....hang in there. Please do take pics (always CYA) and jot down notes of what is going on at work.

I'm so sorry that you are having to go through so much right now.

I know that you have had a bad experience with PM, but please consider giving the practice time to get to know you. Often Dr's just want to be sure we're not seeking meds rather than help. They can do the HORRIBLE injections that feel like they are going to make you insane, but they often call in the next day or two to find out if it helped. Trigger point injections HURT me terribly. The meds help. It was worth the extra pain for a day or two to be able to have the meds I need for some kind of life.

As far as work goes....I'm afraid that I have to agree about moving your things. It's awful, but it is their office space, their desk, bla, bla, bla... Anyway, you can only do so much and it would seem that note taking without confrontation may be the best choice for now.

I really have you on my mind and we will be here to support you!!!!

Hello Donna, Welcome again to this Forum. I think all my fellow CP members haave given you great advise. I know what you are going through, as I had to change PM doctors too! Me patient. Start looking now for a different doctor. Ask round for recommendations. If you can bear it, continue with the PM doctor you have now that you really did not like. You desearve to get some pain relief while you are in search of a new doctor. It took me a couple of months to find a doctor and them schedule an appointment. You don not want to leave yourself without any PM care while your are in the process of manking a move. Please take care and you will be suprised at how well things will turn out once you find the PM that is just right for you. There are a lot of jerks out there. You just happened to nail one your first time out with PM. Do not let this one bad apple spoil the whole barrel for you. There ARE good ones out there. Please keep us posted as to your progress.

Hi Donna;

I am so sorry that you are dealing with so much on your plate. Your work should be helping you, not hindering. But then again I guess that is in a perfect life huh? New Doctors can be such a hard thing to handle. I was so worried when I met my new doctor that I thought he was gonna take away my meds and start over. But I got lucky and it seems things are at least trying to get better :-).

Don't give up. Keep your chin high and hopefully everything will work out soon.

I am trying to get everything under controll.

Since I went to the PM dr & he gave me the trigger injections & Lyrica,

I am feeling so sick and painful. I am sweating so bad and feel like

my back is tighter than knots!! I am also very sick in my head (like dizzy) and shakey. My head is burning up, but Im cold & clammy as well...

I also dont have ANY pain meds, maybe I am having withdrawls...IDK.

I will call the PM DR when they open, but I honestly dont

think they will refill for me since I have not had the appointment

to discuss that with them yet. Oh whoa is me.......

     I am so sorry you are having such a hard time right now. I agree with chart, take pictures of what they did to isolate you. Also, I am terribly sorry you didnt like the pain management doctor. Try, if you can, to stick with the lyrica for atleast a week before you decide if you like it or not. Most of the anti-depressants take a while to build up in your system. *warm huggs!* Stay strong.
