Apt. w/ new pain Doc this a.m.

Hellow all!
I'm going to see my young pain lady doc at 10:00am. I saw her for the first time 3 weeks ago and she made me sign one of those contracts to do everything she asks of me. Well I haven't and I sure hope she doesn't send me packing cause I kinda like her!! She wanted me to get my neck MRI'ed to see how the fusion healed before this apt. and I didn't. I'm going to have to try to explain why I didn't and grovel for her mersky! "Lord have mersky, I just cain't do it by mysef!!!" No, it's a $$$$$ thing! I had that procedure done last week when they scoped my blatter and now I'm going to have to call back my Eye doc who took that lungy thing off my eye last Jan. The din-dang **^^%()#@!!! thing is growing back! There is a black spot growing right on the edge of the color part and the white of my eye, right where he had cut and stitched!! Thats the same way it started last time!!! More time & $$$$$!!!!! I also HAVE to get someone to look at my achillese tendon soon as it's getting worse all the time! I hope she understands that I only have a limitted amout of $ due to social security and their bs and stalling!!! I have health problem priorities and right now the stinking MRI is not at the top of the list!!! I did request medical & surgical reports from my old drs & neuro surgeon that she asked me to and also brought by copies of old MRI reports for my file. I've also bit the bullet and bought the high $$$ prescriptions she asked me to start. So we'll just have to hope she understands!!!

Yep, I did it again> went fishin yesterday w/ this guy I met online. He had a super nice boat parked behind his house right on a river that goes into the Gulf of Mexico. Heck of a nice guy and a good fisherman very knowlagable about the area here. I'm fairly new to the area and even though I concider myself a pretty good fisherman, knowing where to fish in such a large area is a big part of the battle! I learned a lot and caught some bruzer fish too! The only problem was this dude likes to go fast! Now I'm paying the price as usual! Can't walk very well and can hardly turn my head at all because of neck pain. My hands are swollen like balloons and my ruptured achillese tendon looks like the humps on a camels back! I was so shot when I got home I was in bed by 9:00pm and slept till 4:30am getting up only 4 times to pee! A new record! My Uro also gave me some samples of some pills to try, maybe they are working???

Wish me luck and I'll let y'all know how I make out later!!!

PS> Chart & Mikey, no sharks yet! They don't show up here for another month or so. I'd gladly get you some teeth but the sharks I kill for the table are very small, 2'~3'! I catch bigger ones but I don't even bring them in the boat! I ain't that dumb! The teeth on these little fellows are tiny, even smaller than on some other fish I catch but if you still want them, I'll save some when the sharks get here!!

Pete! I'm healing here!....So SHUT UP! :) I don't know why, but even when you post something bad about yourself, I have to laugh! :) Of course, you know I'm only teasing you here. Why....every time I see that you have a new posting,...I go nuts and run for the buttons on the Keyboard! I know what ever it is, it's going to be a heck of a story :)

The fishing sounds like fun! I know you have allot of things you need to get looked at and done medically. But did you ever get a sleep study scheduled? To check you for sleep apnea? I would just about bet that, that getting up and going to the bathroom all night long is caused by sleep apnea. Heck I can't begin to tell you all the pills I was given to cure the nocturia and non of them helped! The urologist even scoped my bladder! It wasn't till I got put on the proper PAP treatment for the sleep apnea, did that getting up all the time during the night cease! Just something else to put on your "to do list!"

Hey Everyone, thanks for all your support! I saw my little young Lady Doc this a.m. and it was a good session. She told me that she is also in sports med. and I should not only tell her about my big problems like neck, lumbar spine, hip and knee but any other pains or complaints because they can all be related. I like this girl! I said it's funny you should mention that because>>> my achilles tendon>bla>bla>bla! She looked at it and said, you will NOT have to have surgery on this but it is torn and will need to be rehabbed! The tear has grown scar tissue and swelled up from all my activity like standing and rocking in a boat and wearing shoes that have hight backs that rub on it like my Rebok walking shoes. Then I asked her about my useless left arm and the pain in my elbow. She said that my ulna nerve was very swollen and that I also had tendinitis> (what I figured) She gave me a couple more tubes of Voltaren Jell and told me to use it on both areas. She also prescribed one of those arm band things to wear around my forearm and to ice both areas several times a day which I've already been doing.
I explained about buying all my meds and having procedures and now my eye problem which she looked as and said eeeooooooo>yuk! I told her I just couldn't aford all this stuff at once and she understood but sdaid she still wants an MRI as soon as I can swing it. I came home and fell asleep and forgot to call the dam eye doc!! Gol dang it!!!!!

FJ, thanks for the thoughts and prayers as usual! For years I always said that when I retire I'll fish every day! I never expected myself to end up the way I am so trying to go fishing maybe once a week, even if it takes me 6 days to recover is just the tip of the iceberg of my dream! Besides, someone has to hastle those fish, who better than me??? I still hope you get the chance to come down and sample some of the fine fishin down here w/ me!!! We can moan and whine about pains together after every fish we catch and I have a sharp knife to just cut the line if the fish is too big and starts hurting you too bad!!!

W.B. yep, you got me there! Thats another biggy on my list!! I sure would love to have my wife sleeping back in bed w/ me again too! (She leaves almost every night cause of the snoring and breathing stoppage!) Thanks for the kick in the butt! I'll move that one right up behind my eye on the list!! There's still too many fish to catch to kick off from something like that which is preventable! I sure hope you are doing OK after all you have been through my friend!!!

Dani, you are so funny!!! Why would I kid you about sharks??? They are only a fish and I fear no fish!!! If you get to come down and want to, I'll take yo out shark fishing if you want but you might like a boat ride in the river 5 minutes from me instead. There are not any croc's but there are plenty of Hollamagators there. They usually just lie up on a bank or the edge of a log and sleep in the sun but sometimes the cruise around on the surface of the water! They CAN'T get into the boat, even the big 12'~14"ers!! Sometimes the babies are a pest and go after my bass lures! I've accidentally caught small ones before! Do you think the girls (Bumblebee's) would enjoy seeing them?? There is loads of other wildlife there too! We always see bald eagles, osprey, hawks (all kinds) herons, egrets, wood storks, sandhill cranes, river otters, coons, armadillas, snakes and tons of cooters (water turtles)> Lots of cool stuff to look at! I'll send you a video of the last time I was over there about a month ago. It was still cool then but I did see one, (gator) 7'-8'er on a sunken tree in the sun. There should be lots over there now w/ the warm temps!! Big hugs for you and your fam's Dani! Thanks for writing!

Hey Pete,

You absolutely kill me. I really enjoy reading your adventures....it's WAY better than daytime TV.

It is honestly worth it to get out and spend some quality time on the water. I miss the ocean fishing, but I just got back in the pond after a year. Ok, so I'm a girl (or perhaps an old lady to some) but I still love to fish and to spend the time with my husband on the water. You have GOT to be careful about those speed deamons though! The fishing is worth it, but the pain from the boat is crazy bad. I'm just getting over my own fishing weekend and I didn't do anything like you! You amaze me and honestly help keep things in perspective.

It's good to see you back and having a good time again!

Hey!... I have the same problem with my elbows, and especially the left one! No smarty pantz comment Pete! :) I did figure something out that will possibly help with it though! Stick a pillow under each arm and elevate your elbows level with your belly.....Oh shoot!.... you cant do that...now can you!...or they would be pointed up towards the ceiling! :) Anyway, give it a try, and I'm willing to bet that your elbow will feel better in the morning. I'm guessing you sleep on your back...right? Well if you do, and your elbows hang down at your side, your putting pressure on that nerve. I also had several cortisone shots in them, and that helped to speed along the process. Give it a try! :)

Glad to hear it went well at your PM appt..Now be a good boy and go get that MRI!!!! Also happy to know that your tendon won't need surgery..yea!

Think of it as a fishing trip is the reward each time you finish up with a test or Dr. appt:)

You really do have so much going on health wise..and I know how hard that must be...I truly am glad that you are able to still physically able to go out and enjoy something that you love...that's what makes this crazy roller coaster of pain somewhat tolerable...things we can look forward to...

     Your new doc sounds like a keeper for sure! I am so glad you finally found a good one! about time. I am glad she looked at everything else too. Did you remember to make an appointment with the eye surgeon? If not, don't forgett to.

 

     I would love a boat ride, but my youngest wouldnt do too well. Shes only 5 and shes still mastering the art of public potty control. She can make it about 30mins before each stop, but the moment she getts excited she does the pee pee dance and has to go again! My oldest busy bee would be thrilled to no end.. ..

 

       OMG Hubby got home and I was telling him about the river idea and he says we would have a blast. I said I didnt think rose bear would make it that long without potty and he just told me how you go potty on a boat.

Pete, I hope the doc can give you some definite answers today at your appt. That eye thing sounds scary in the least. Let us know what he has to say after you get home. Good Luck and will be looking for your post.

Well this is my first "trip" with you. I must say, I know it's bad, but I gotta go with SE! I got a laugh outta this that I didn't know I could laugh of late!! Thanks man, that was great! When the chips are down, there is just nothing better than a person with a great sense of humor and I believe you know about that. I hope all goes well with "Dr. Quinn", lady doc and that she will be swayed by your humor as I believe we all were. When it rains, it pours and sounds like it's been pouring a bunch of junk your way...good luck.
