Hello everyone! I haven't posted in quite awhile but things have been going fairly well for me lately! It seems like I only post when things are bad and that's not how it should be, right? So I thought I would give you all a few updates on what's going on here and see how you guys are doing!
I've found a wonderful PM doctor (on the first try might I add!) and he has made all the difference for me in the world! He really listens to me and even if I think I might like to try a medication that I've read about, he listens and puts his 2 cents worth in and then if we agree, we try it for awhile! Right now my regimen is 30mg Morphine 3x daily, with Lortab 10/500 every 4 hours as needed for breakthrough pain. It has worked wonders for me! For the first time in 7 years, my pain is under control! I can get out of bed in the morning and cook a big breakfast for my family and not feel like I need to take a pill and a nap! I went fishing today for the first time in a long time. It was relaxing!
My son Jaden, who is 2, is still seeing his speech therapist 2 times a week and we just signed him up for preschool starting this fall! I'm so excited for him! He loves to play with other children and he just doesn't have that opportunity here. He only has me to play with right now, that's been kind of sad for me since he just needs to play with kids his age. I really think his speech will improve some when he has more contact with other kids who have better speech than he does. He's really smart! Like a sponge, really.
Jaden has been sleepwalking lately and it's been keeping me up alot of nights trying to get him back to bed still asleep. I've had to put bells on his door and make sure I put the deadbolts on the outer doors every night. I also have to put all the baby gates up so he's contained and can't hurt himself on anything. It's been hit and miss figuring out how to keep him safe, but I think so far I've been doing ok with it. It's just really hindering my sleep alot! I'm so worried about him that I sleep very lightly and don't get much restful sleep. He has a doctors appt on June 14th so we can talk about something that might help with his sleepwalking so I'll try to update you then.
Anyway, thank you to all of you who helped me with kind words of encouragement when I first joined and was going through the horrible pain and I was just starting the process of finding help for my pain. I feel like I've come a long way since then and it's only been about 6 months! You guys really are a great group of people! Very caring people here. I love you all!
Thanks again,
Tammy
