Do you get lightheaded from a protruding disc?

Hi, I had asked this question as a reply to a thread but thought I would start this as a new thread. I was just diagnosed with a protruding disc at L5-S1 with mild facet disease. No stenosis at least. The weird thing is that my back doesn't really hurt that much, although I did have 7 months of right hip pain which is now finally starting to get better (with no drugs). Also, it really affects my right foot as it gets sore and cramps easily. And it is almost constantly tingly. But then, my hands get tingly too.

My main concern right now is that I get light headed REALLY easily. I have found what triggers it..... when I am warm or hot is when I get it the most. Also, if I am standing up from a squatting or bending position, or if I stand up too quickly from sitting for awhile. However, the light headedness occurs more often when I am hot. Don't know what being hot has to do with a bulging disc, but I know that is a symptom of MS. Anyway, just wanted to know if this is all normal with a bulging disc in lower back

Have you spoken with your doctor about this lightheadedness? I don't know about it being related to a back problem, but I do know that lightheadedness can sometimes be a sign of a more serious problem, like low or high blood pressure. Lightheadednes can also be a common side effect from various medications. The best thing to do is to speak with a medical professional. I'd suggest making an appointment with your doctor asap & bringing this up.

I would get to the dr and let him know about this. If this protruding disc was in your neck I would say possibly, but your back, no I don't think so. It really sounds like you have something else going on here. Good luck.
