Mikel, what did the doc say???

I remember you posting about finding a lump in your breast and that you were going to go to the doctor to have it checked out.  I was just curious to hear what the doc had to say and to see if everything is OK with you.  I hope this post finds you well!  Don't want to sound too noisy about your condition, just thinking about you and letting you know we care.

Dear Jag and Pete , Thanks so much for remembering , I have to get a sonogram which I'm going to try to do this week , he thinks it may be a new med side effect , I just changed cocktail meds to try and boost my t-cells 2 days later I noticed this , I think , the problem is I don't know exactly when the lump developed , I only noticed it by accident , it takes direct touching and some pressure to notice . But I'll see what the songram says . Thanks for remembering guys , that means a lot .I hope you are both well and having pain-free or at least low-pain days . Your Buddy Mikel

Oh Mikel, I will be praying for you when you get the mammogram done. I know how painful they can be, so hopefully you get a good tech who can be fast and efficient, so it's easier for you.

Hey My HW Family , Freaking Medicaid !!! I went to the hospital today only to find out I need and appt and could've made it over the phone . First they send me to the wrong place so I had to walk an extra block , then when I get there I'm told no I can't just walk in even with a letter fom a doctor who works at the same hospital , I have to make an appt . So my appt is for 9:20 on Wednesday the 23rd , till then I get to sweat it out . Thanks again for your concern , I don't feel alone and thats huge for me , I'll keep you updated Family . Sorry to hear of your troubles but I too always have to make appt. for my mammograms. Also, I wanted to let you know that I am on the small side as far as breast size goes and the test is relatively painless. They do have to squeeze as much tissue into the clampy thing as possible to get the biggest area possible covered but it is not painful just uncomfortable. They do stick little circle things on the nipples so the radiologist can distinguish them.

When my lumps were found from a self-exam the next step was a mammogram but after they showed up on the mammogram, I was sent for an ultra-sound of the breast. So don't be surprised if that may be suggested as the next step.

I'm sure that most men wouldn't have known to make an appt ahead of time for this procedure. Try to keep calm and let us know how it goes on the 23rd.
