finally have new dates for my surgeries

Hi everyone,

So after almost a month, I finally have new dates for my stimulator trial at the new hospital. The trial will begin on July 2nd & if successful, the permanent implant will be done on July 9th, if not, the trial implant will be removed on that date.

I am so relieved to finally have a set time. Not knowing has been really stressing me out & my depression has been worsening. Just pray that the 3rd time is the charm & there will be no more insurance or other issues which prevent this from happening yet again.

I'm so glad you're set up for your trial. Let's hope this is a great fourth of July present for you, and that you'll have lots to celebrate when the fireworks are going off!

If they mess with you this time I think all of us ought to start writing letters to the editor to all your local papers and to that insurance company!

     How wonderful is that!?!?!?! It is about darn time! Oh, you have had so many let downs throughout this whole ordeal it is wonderful that it will all be over soon. You've had to deal with so much, on top of everythign else in your life.... I really hope the trial goes well! It isnt much longer now. Hang in there and stay strong! You are in our prayers here!

third times the charm!!!! i'm rooting for you and hope it goes smoothly and WORKS!!. When I had mine installed I was in by 7 out by10 so it'll be a breeze. Just b careful not to tug on the wire that hangs out of your forehead!!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooo happy for you

tell me again where they are attaching the electrodes. Mine are placed on my R supraorbital nerve so the only incsion was a 2 inch "cut" on my R temple where the wires came out. They looped them around the back of my ear and the wires then hung down to a power pack and controller. The only problems were getting used to carrying the controller and being aware of the wire so that I didn't accidentally get it caught on something. Even though the lead was stitched in my head there is always the possibility of pulling the wire out if it gets caught. Sleeping with the unit was a bit tricky at first and of course, no showering for a few days. I'm assuming that your set-up might be pretty much the same, no? There wasn't very much pain, only where they inserted the electrode. Anyway, things may have changed since 2005. Let us know how its going and again..healing hugs to you dear lady. I am praying so hard that it does the trick for you.

Taking off work sounds like a good plan for you. Can't imagine snakes playing around with wires and such!

That will at least give you time to let us know how it's going!
